Offering a new way to play Diplomacy - Slangers   (Jan 09, 2020, 10:11 am)
Dear Diplomaticcorp community- I am launching a new eZine which offers the opportunity to play standard Diplomacy and Intimate Diplomacy at a slightly more leisurely pace. The intention is to run games to a 3-4 week turnaround and to go to a model where orders are made for the major turns and players have to order conditional orders for retreats and adjustments.

If you're a Diplomacy veteran and used to play through the postal zines, it will be a bit like that, but without the snail-mail! Issue one of Last Orders! is available here https://sway.office.com/FDpAl3mAe9sxXcWM?ref=Link and you are all very welcome to subscribe and play!
Best wishes
Simon

Thank you! I'll check out the rules and look into possibly joining a game!

Greetings Skeleton!

There is always a game open to join on this site- if you go to the Games tab and click on Open Games, the first on the list is always a game of standard Diplomacy as opposed to an exotic variant.

If you've never played before I'd suggest that you read the rules (see https://media.wizards.com/2015/downloads/ah/diplomacy_rules.pdf). A game is a long commitment- probably 3-4 months to complete. If you want to know more there are plenty of folk around who can advise you.

Hello,
I'm completely new to Diplomacy, but I'd definitely be interested in learning how to play! If anyone has any suggestions on where/how to get started, I'd greatly appreciate it!

First Intimate Game Ends! - Slangers   (Nov 04, 2019, 1:53 pm)
The first game in the Intimate Tournament has ended with a victory for APC91's Germany putting GarryBledsoe's Russia to the sword. We have our first semi-finalist.

Who wants to play the last round one game?

Hey guys. I've started a weekly diplomacy email. The goal is to keep everyone updated on the current events going on across the community both online and the local scene. I'll also be including weekly strategy articles. You can see the past issues and subscribe here http://www.diplomacybriefing.com.

I hope you'll sign up, but I also wanted to hear what are some things you'd like to see. Thanks!

Haven is the BEST! - garry.bledsoe   (Feb 18, 2019, 8:02 pm)
All - we have been sitting at 7 players for the open re004 (aka HAVEN variant) for some time.

This is an amazing variant to play and well worth your time. I encourage you to join and try something completely different.

Of course I also have a soft spot for it because it is the brainchild of Sims, one of our Mods.

Join up now!

Calhamer Estate Sale - david_e_cohen   (Apr 02, 2017, 9:37 pm)

Calhamer Estate Sale - david_e_cohen   (Mar 28, 2017, 8:45 pm)
I got an email from Douglas Kent of Diplomacy World fame, so I thought I'd spread the word on various forums. Mr. Calhamer's estate is being liquidated. Among the items being sold on ebay is a first edition of Diplomacy, marked 1 of 500. In other words, Alan Calhamer's PERSONAL copy, which just also happens to be the FIRST COPY of Diplomacy published. EVER.

I am not particularly into collecting things, but for this I may make an exception. If I had to explain it to a non-Dipper, I'd say this was the equivalent, for an American, of being able to purchase Thomas Jefferson's personal copy of the Declaration of Independence, signed by all of the Founding Fathers.

Hello all. I am a hopeful one or more of you may be in touch with Garry. As you may know, Garry is GMing DC560. He has not answered his mail since a deadline passed on Friday, March 3rd.

Naturally, all in DC560 would like to know he is ok. A post with a simple advisement would be very helpful. Thanks to any and all who can be helpful in this regard.

Best,
Larry Hill - DC 560

calling all GMs - garry.bledsoe   (Feb 08, 2017, 7:44 pm)
What's up party people? We are in dire need of some GM's. Who's up for the adventure? We have players lining up to play but precious few GM's running games. Remember - we are a community which means we need everyone to help out. Besides, GMing furthers your game (and earns you unending admiration from your playing peers).

Side note - how awesome is it that I am currently Order of the Shrubbery?

Come on folks! Join up! Contact Garry if you want to GM (email me via my player profile). Pretty please.

One of your tireless Mods - Garry

Hello everyone. I joined this site today (12/28/2016). It has been years since I played Diplomacy--but I fondly remember playing it "face-to-face" during my high school years...which has been quite some time ago!
Looking forward to the games.

Hey Guys,

Brian Koon from Dip2000.com , giving this site a try. Hoping that I can find a site that emulates the ability to have 1-2 week seasons with players who are serious about playing diplomacy.

Dip2000.com is shutting down, sadly. I have been playing there since 2002.

I'll take the game if there are 7 clear players (saw 2 Turks last time I looked). Easy enough to move it along instead of waiting to have my Colonial posted.

Garry,

I could swear there was a post where you gave me the moderator email address and advised me to ensure it does not get sent to my spam folder - but, I can't find it.

Might that information be reposted for me?
