DC 282, Game Over, Peace Negotiated - alfdog   (Mar 30, 2010, 3:25 am)
Dear all,
many thanks for such a good game and apologies especially to Sam who I stabbed despite having a good thing going. I hope I also demonstrated, probably to some people’s surprise, my willingness to not stab fra, even though I had at times some ample opportunity, especially in the forthcoming turn, but I gambled on a two way and am very pleased with that. I always try to identify one ally and game allowing stay with them for the whole game. I would like to offer my thanks to Warren for being such a great gm, I’d love him to publish his thoughts on the game. I also would like to thank Wladimir for being such a thoughtful and communicative ally, always ready to listen and challenge my duff ideas, without doubt the best ally I have had in diplomacy. I would also like to thank Michael for all of his correspondence.
I think ultimately what made the biggest difference, as well as fra and eng’s willingness to stick together was the unresolved eastern triangle, with tur not building a fleet at the end f 01 and ah and tur bashing each other in a stalemate it left fra and eng to resolve the west and then move on. I’d be interested to hear other people’s interpretation of the game.
Best wishes
Alfred Nicol

Hi,

That's all folks. The England/France draw passes with a unanimous vote. So a big congratulations to Alfred and Wladimir, and also to all that survived until the end. It was a good one, thanks to everyone that played.

I'll get the results entered and posted at DC as soon as I can.

End game map is attached, although I know you've all seen it before.

Cheers,

Warren

DC 282, Summer 1906 and Draw Proposed - alwayshunted   (Mar 22, 2010, 8:13 pm)
Russia retreats his army to Ukraine. Fall 1906 is due in one week, Monday March 29 at 17:00 MDT.

We have a DRAW PROPOSED, a two-way draw between England and France. What this means is that you all must vote with your fall orders. In order for the draw to pass the vote must be unanimous between all surviving players. There is no abstaining, and failure to submit a vote is considered a vote AGAINST the draw. In other words, I need six yes votes in my mailbox for it to pass.

Maps are attached. Talk to you in a week. Don't forget to vote.....

My worst fears confirmed about internet access in Cuba.... especially when the rum is free. Anyhow, I am back from my short vacation and apologise to you all for keeping you waiting. I'm catching up at work but will find time to get the game underway again sometime later today.

Hey everyone,

Sorry for my tardiness. Another interesting turn.... we have a couple of retreats due, one from Russia and one from Italy. I'm making the deadline Tuesday, and there will possibly be some slow turns on my part for the next week. I'm taking a vacation and will be on a beach at a resort. The resort has internet apparently, but I'm not 100% sure how things will work.

Anyhow, I will do my best to get adjudications out for the autumn and winter turns in a timely manner.... in between rums.

DC 282, Spring 1904 - alwayshunted   (Jan 29, 2010, 7:23 pm)
Hi folks.

You may have noticed that I did not send a reminder this turn. That is not on purpose, or out of spite, or any other reason like that. I simply didn't get to it and/or forgot. I TRY to send them, but please do not count on them! And please send preliminary orders! Send them now, as soon as you see this. It doesn't matter if you change them later, I won't get upset. I will get upset if you nmr.

Okay, lecture over... on to the game. England is a convoying fool this turn... his own armies, foreign armies... he does not discriminate. Some other interesting developments as well, as Russia advances in Austria, but looks over his shoulder and sees a yellow fleet landing in Sevastopol and blue ones hovering around his north coast. France moves into Germany AND Africa.

We have one retreat needed from Germany, but there is only one option so I have taken the liberty of moving it myself and moving on to fall. Sam, if you want to move it OTB just let me know and I can remove it.
