DC308 - EOG - Italy - neversawthatcoming   (Jul 01, 2010, 10:48 am)
First, many to thanks to Fredrik...did a very nice job of GMing...kept the game moving...was fun and easy to work with.

Second, I would like to thank my much larger ally - Jeremy (Austria) for a couple of things...for allowing me to play a screw-ball opening which threatened him for most of '01 and '02...and for graciously offering to include me in the draw and bypassing what may have been an Austrian solo.

Third, I'd like to thank all of the players that formed this game and who hung in there until the handwriting was on the wall.

My goals coming into the game were to ally with either R or T and snap up easy Austrian centers.  Talks with R and T never seemed to go very far, whereas talks with Austria always seemed to produce a tangible plan with mutual benefit.  For me the turning points in the game came in Spring of '01 when I tried to convince Austria to let me have Tyrolia...and then again in Fall '01 when I had to convince both Germany and Austria that I did not plan to attack them.  The offer of a DMZ from France was a godsend and allowed for all of this to happen without fear of defending against the west.

My opening -- The Bohemian Crusher as I have heard it called -- produced a much more interesting game than playing Italy sometimes affords.  What I hope this showed is that the Bohemian Crusher can be anti-Austrian, but can be turned into something that is quite difficult for Russia to handle as well.

Take care all,

Joe

Gentlemen,
And there is peace across Europe as the diplomatic channels manage to persuade all fighting parties that the weapons should be put down.
The victory goes to Austria and Italy who managed to stay together from the start until the end in this game with lots of abandonments. England and Germany manage to scrape together a survival.

End game statements can be sent to dc308(at)diplomaticcorp.com.
I also envourage you to visit the game page at the web site, where the complete stats will soon be published.

dc308 - Winter 1906 Results - z93blom   (Jun 27, 2010, 2:35 pm)
Gentlemen,
Sorry for this late adjudication. I now have all orders for the winter:Austria: Build A TriesteEngland: Build F LondonFrance: Build waivedGermany: Build A Kiel

The spring moves are due on Thursday, along with your votes for the following draw proposal that has been put forth:Austria/Italy shared victory, with England and Germany earning survivals.

You can vote Yes, or No to the proposal. A unanimous Yes vote from the all the surviving nations (AEGI) is needed for the proposal to pass. Any Nay vote, or a vote not received will make the draw fail. You respond along with the normal movement orders. If the vote passes the movements will not be executed, instead we will have peace in Europe. If the vote fails the submitted movements will be adjudicated as normal.

You may at any time put forth new draw proposals. They will be put forth for public voting at the major seasons.

Next turn: Spring 1907 Movement + Proposal votes

Next Deadline: Wednesday, 30th of June, 18:00 GMT (6PM).

Gentlemen,
Thank you all for your patience. I know that I've been late with the last two adjudications. That hasn't helped France, who suffers the second NMR this year, and is therefore placed in Civil Disorder.

The German army in Silesia is saved by the bell by a misorder of the Warsaw unit. Other than that we see the Austro-Italian alliance move forward in the Western Mediterranean.

Orders due:Austria: Supp 11, Units 9, Build 1England: Supp 5, Units 4, Build 1France: Civil DisorderGermany: Supp 6, Units 5, Build 1Italy: Supp 6, Units 6, Build 0

Russia: EliminatedTurkey: Eliminated
I will adjudicate early this season once I receive orders from you all marked FINAL!

dc308 - Fall 1905 Results - z93blom   (Jun 04, 2010, 2:42 pm)
Gentlemen,
The western powers have woken up to the threat that the two eastern nations are becoming and have acted accordingly.
Munich changes hands once again, and is once again possessed by Germany.  The Baltic coast is occupied by the Western alliance, and the final Turkish center is occupied by the Austrian, all while Russia is split by Austria and England.

Thank you all for getting orders in on time. Much appreciated. Don't forget that you can send in preliminaries at once. For this turn, if you all mark your orders FINAL, I will adjudicate early (and push the schedule for the winter turn up accordingly).

We have retreats that are due:Italian A Munich can retreat to Berlin, Tyrolia or OTB.Italian A Piedmont can retreat to Venice, Tyrolia or OTB.German A Silesia can retreat to Berlin or OTB.

For the winter, we have the following status and adjustments that need to be done:Austria: 11 centers, 8 units: Build  3England: 5 centers, 4 units: Build  1
France: 6 centers, 6 unitsGermany: 5 or 6 centers, 4 or 5 units: Build 1 or 0 (depending on retreats).Italy: 6 or 7 centers, 5 - 7 units: Remove 1 or build up to 2 (depending on retreats)
Russia: Eliminated
Turkey: Eliminated
(That gave me a headache. There might be things wrong - you all can see what happens depending on the retreats - there are not too many options)

Gentlemen,The winter builds are in, and we see a whole bunch of new Fleets in the Mediterranean, while other Fleets are removed by default.

Russia and Turkey are now officially placed in Civil Disorder, failing to submit orders for two consecutive major turns. I will not seek out any replacements. Countries in civil disorder will automatically hold, and units displaced will automatically disband. Revise your strategies accordingly.

We have a player who is going to be out of touch for a few days, so the next deadline is going to be in about a week:

Orders are due in less than 24 hours. Get them in...

2010/5/20 Fredrik Blom <fredrik(at)familjenblom.se>

Gentlemen,The winter builds are in, and we see a whole bunch of new Fleets in the Mediterranean, while other Fleets are removed by default.

Russia and Turkey are now officially placed in Civil Disorder, failing to submit orders for two consecutive major turns. I will not seek out any replacements. Countries in civil disorder will automatically hold, and units displaced will automatically disband. Revise your strategies accordingly.

We have a player who is going to be out of touch for a few days, so the next deadline is going to be in about a week:

Next turn: Spring 1905 Movement

Next Deadline: Friday, 28th of May, 18:00 GMT (6PM).

Austria: Build A Budapest
France: Build F Marseilles

Italy:
Build F NaplesBuild F Rome
Russia:Remove F Skagerrak
Turkey: Remove F Black Sea

Next turn: Spring 1905 Movement

Next Deadline: Friday, 28th of May, 18:00 GMT (6PM).

dc308 - Fall 1904 Results - z93blom   (May 15, 2010, 4:56 am)
Gentlemen,
Apologies for the late adjudication. Here it is anyways. France gets beaten back from the Germany homeland by a concerted attack from Italy/Austria. Other than that we see movement, but not a lot of true action. We also see the Turkish government being placed in Civil Disorder. This means that any units that are dislodged from now on will automatically disband. I will not seek a replacement player.

Please get in the habit of turning in preliminary orders.
We are in need of a retreat:French A Munich can retreat to Ruhr, Kiel or OTB.

You can also start thinking about the builds/disbands that are due after that:Austria: Build 1France: Build 1 (if the retreat is OTB)Italy: Build 2Russia: Remove 1

Turkey: Remove 1
You can start sending in the adjustments immediately (conditional if you want to depending on the retreat)

Next turn: Autumn 1904 Retreats

Next Deadline: Monday, 17th of May, 18:00 GMT (6PM) (Can be adjudicated early).

Upcoming turn: Winter 1904 Adjustments

Upcoming Deadline (preliminary): Wednesday, 19th of May, 18:00 GMT (6PM).

Gentlemen,
We are entering another grace period. Four of you have currently triggered this now. Let's hope it stays that way. All late parties will be notified of your missing orders. If you do not receive another mail from me within a few minutes you're fine (but check the order confirmations I've sent out, as they may contain information with regards to the submitted moves).

Next turn: Fall 1904 Movement

Next Deadline: Friday, 14th of May, 18:00 GMT (6PM).

Gentlemen,Do we see a case of early-leader syndrome, as Germany gets struck by a multi-power attack? Also, the news from the east is not good as the leaders for both Turkey and Russia forget to order their units around. The consequence: Italian and Austrian units are knocking on the door...

We are in need of a single retreat, but with only one option available I've auto-retreated the unit into the Black Sea. Jeffrey, if you'd rather retreat the unit OTB, let me know before Monday, 18:00 GMT.
