Vacation - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Everyone,

I just wanted to give you all plenty of advanced notice that all games I am currently running will have a 2-4 week pause beginning near the end of November. I will be going on vacation starting on the 22nd of November and will not be returning home until December 8th. During this time I do not plan on having much access to my email, or at least not regular access. At the moment it appears that all three of my games will still be running by the time I leave. As these dates approach and the deadlines for these games extend into them I will announce the beginning of the pause for each game.

On a site note we have players all over the world, so... I will be in the cities of Paris, Bern, Zurich, Stuttgart, Milan, and Venice during my trip. If any of you are near these locations and are interested, I would be happy to buy you a drink.

But...doesn't seem to pay too much for it.

Some definite appearances of alliances.

Josh, that is true.
His wife (and editor since page one) has all the notes, the whole thing has been scripted for quite some time. And a few weeks ago RJ sat her and Cousin/Brother Wilson down for an all day Storytelling session, laying out EVERYTHING (Wish we had video of that!)

Harriet had edited RJ's work for 20 years and is a poet and author in her own right. She can capture his voice and finish book 12. Time is the only question. For her I hope the work will give her closure, otherwise the whole effort may prove too painful to bare. No one is rushing her to get it done, the whole fan community is being very supportive.

There are plans for an international Wake on his birthday (Oct 17th) Fans are rushing to make arrangements all over the world.

Any interest in joining the game?

It's a "if we had the right help that could manage and upkeep such a database, we'd consider it a bit sooner than later" task. Smile

Unknown - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
No doubt that having a tape of that would be great. As most of the rest of the fans I will patiently wait for the final book to come out. Besides, I would much rather them take their time and get it done right.

As far as joining... I'll have to pass this time around.

DC-114 Needs Replacement Italy - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
DC 114 is looking for a replacement Italy. The position is for Fall 1902 and a 5 center Italy. You can view the current map on the diplomatic corp website. Please email me immediately.

I apologize to everyone in DC-114. We have had a very slow start out of the gates as this is the 4th player we have had to replace. I am sticking by my announced house rules that I will not NMR a country in the first two years because of its huge effect on the overall game. As soon as I confirm a new Italy I will give that Italy 3 days to get orders in so I'm sure the new player, when I send you all his email address, would appreciate quick responses.

Thank you all for your patience.

John Soper

The current map for DC114 doesnt seem to be displaying on the website - its showing the starting positions, but you said Italy was at 5 SCS

I'm interested in filling the spot - email me, Landru428(at)aol.com

I've found in my experience that the problems does not really lie with getting in the number of players but getting them to commit for the full game.. in the last 3 or 4 i've been in (admittedly some of them were delayed starts waiting for people to arrive).. we've played like 2 hours and then people say "oh i didn't realise it would take so long' or 'i have to go'..

i've never played in a live game that actually finished.

Perhaps with your scheduled time (and obviously nmrs for those who break beyond that).. this might be less of a problem.
