DC 373: Forgotten Press - AceRimmer   (Mar 25, 2011, 11:44 am)
Your GM overlooked an announcement from one of the players that should have been included in the W1901 adjudication.
Quoth the Mizak: "Alea iacta est"
I regret having omitted the press, as it rather adds to the atmosphere of the game.

DC 373 announcement - archimedes   (Mar 23, 2011, 5:39 am)
Gentlemen,

I will be leaving on Saturday Morning to go on a Boy Scout Camping Trip to Gettysburg, Pa.  I will return on Tuesday evening.  I will take my new laptop with me--assuming it arrives before I leave-- though there is no guarantee that I will be able to access internet on the way.  I apologize for any inconvenience this causes.  So write early and write often.

Thanks

DC 373: F1901 Adjudication - AceRimmer   (Mar 22, 2011, 10:59 am)
???There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.???
- The Tragedy of Julius Caesar

It has been my observation that, due to their multinational borders, Rumania and Belgium often receive lots of love and fawning attention during Fall 1901. Such proves the case this year. Four units engage in Rumania. And the victory goes to Russia. *Five* units engage in Belgium (including the convoying fleet??? one of a staggering three convoys this season), and the victory goes to??? Tintin, who retains his independence whilst the English and German units bounce. Belgium (and waffles) for the Belgians!

Elsewhere, players gobble up unclaimed centers. There are no retreats. Thus, we come to the momentous Winter 1901 builds. Friend, what will you build? Will you build boldly to brazenly announce your intentions for 1902? Or will your builds ambiguous be? In hopes to lull your ???allies??? into trustfully exposing their backsides to you?

We shall learn soon enough! Winter 1901 orders are due Thursday at 10:00 a.m. CST (15:00 GMT). Your adjustments are as follows (Supp = supply centers; Unit = current number of units; Build = number of units you get to build):

Austria: Supp 5 Unit 3 Build 2
England: Supp 4 Unit 3 Build 1
France: Supp 5 Unit 3 Build 2
Germany: Supp 5 Unit 3 Build 2

DC 373: S1901 Beware the Ides of March - AceRimmer   (Mar 15, 2011, 10:36 am)
"Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war"
- Mark Antony, "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar"

Usually, I offer commentary on the season's developments, but in this case, seeing as how I have sub-titled this game "The Ides of March", I hesitate to meddle with the potent cogency of Shakespeare.

There are no unconventional opening sets of orders; rather, it is the interplay of the openings that will generate flavor heading into Fall 1901. Retreats being impossible after Spring 1901, we will now proceed to Fall 1901 due next Tuesday, March 22, at 10:00 a.m. CST (15:00 GMT).

As you see, with each adjudication, I will attach a map of the last season's orders, a map of the board as it currently stands, and a .dpy file. The .dpy is a RealPolitik file [I adjudicate using RealPolitik]. So, if you have your own copy of RealPolitik and wish to follow along... go right ahead.

Also, I include the text adjudication of all orders (below). Orders are presented *as written*. This allows you to see exactly what your opponents ordered. It also lets you review my work for possible errors in adjudication.

And now, without any further ado...

"Havoc!"

DC 373: First Deadline Tomorrow - AceRimmer   (Mar 14, 2011, 8:38 am)
Spring 1901 orders are due tomorrow.
Remember, there is a special rule for Spring 1901: no orders = automatic removal from the game.
I am still missing two sets of orders.
I have confirmed all orders that I have received. If you don't have a confirmation from me, then you'd best re-submit your orders!
Adam
