Now 3 of the 4 have gone. I find East to be tougher than North to play myself but this format mitigates that as well. Next turn by 1/20 http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/game_page.php?game_id=dc544 has map & dpy file if desired.

GB05 DC473 1 TOTAL SC OVER 8 YRS BREAKS THE YR 8 T... - vegas_iwish   (Feb 22, 2014, 4:00 pm)
..in a diff way then I thought was the case. R led T by 1 sc yrs 2-5(+4). Tied yrs 1&6 (still +4) E took a 3sc lead in yr 7 (+1). Tied again here in 8 so it is Rome (Thomas Fletcher) who will play in the finale. Can ck the math by going thru the falls on the site. Mick Cox will get just as many DC points for this 1 as considered a draw on top for the both of them. I should be sad as Mick & G(Markus Paeuser) were always the 1st 2 in by a mile while Thomas &  P(John Gilbert) brought up the rearSmile I actually entered all holds for P as , with E not challenging him, there was nothing any P moves could have done to change outcome.  C (Justin Card) made an attempt to change the outcome yet again (went for Sicily) & still deserves plaudits for playing
out. G also did not give R a freebie. If R had gone for both Vin & Dal he would have gotten neither. Congrats to all on a fine game that started out with a no-show (anyone hear from Allen York recently? Remember him as reliable DW/Cat player who I actually e-mailed up front to join tho apparently was old e-mail. He joined game under a new 1) then 2 Carthages thanks to a mis-mail by me once Thomas filled in as #5. No elims & lowest sc at 4. In a few days will have Mike S set up the normal (non-gb) finale tho will be a time limit of some sort.  http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/game_page.php?game_id=dc473Rome: THOMAS FLETCHER

Yes well done Chris. Although I'm sorry to see you correctly chose Miletus over Crete, a three-way draw would have been nice. My thanks to Rome for being such a great sport in the first half and for throwing me a bone on the last turn. Sorry about that knife in the back.

Chris, good luck in the final!

Congrats Chris and thank you Mike for very enthousiastic and professional GMing. For me it's been ages since I played a variant and I feel I like I missed a couple of chances in the midgame, but overall pretty happy with the Carthagan performance. Congrats Chris and thank you Mike for very enthousiastic and professional GMing. For me it's been ages since I played a variant and I feel I like I missed a couple of chances in the midgame, but overall pretty happy with the Carthagan performance. I'm sad though that my ever friendly army in Leptis is the final straw in the Egyptian victory Wink

Good luck in the final Chris and to the rest I hope to see you again in other games.

Yes well done Chris. Although I'm sorry to see you correctly chose Miletus over Crete, a three-way draw would have been nice. My thanks to Rome for being such a great sport in the first half and for throwing me a bone on the last turn. Sorry about that knife in the back.
