Maps with Moves? - jhack16   (Mar 15, 2008, 8:28 am)
Hi Guys,

Would it be possible to include dpy files in all game reports?

I find reading other games's moves fascinating, and would love to see the actual situation on a map as per what happens when playing your own game.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Joe Rolling Eyes

dc157 Spring 1902 Results - davidellsworth   (Mar 14, 2008, 8:27 pm)
World Wide Press (A news company)

Austrian forces mass in the east.
England fleets sail deep into foreign bodies of water.
French forces thrown back from Burgandy.
Germany presses into France.
Italy sails east while his armies are on holiday.
Russian forces go nearly catatonic.
Turkish forces stand firm.

Ok so the news is not that great. Feel free to send your own headlines along with your moves. Taunt your neighbors. Insult your friends. Point someone elses finger at yourself. Anything is fair game and will be listed just as above, unless you want to have your name attached. I will not directly credit someone else with something you wrote, but if you want to include there country name in any headlines that is fine.

Fall 1902 moves will be due Friday 21 MARCH 2008 by 8pm EST.

In reality not a whole lot happened. The one retreat we have has only one option so I took the liberty on moving the French unit to Gascony. If you would rather disband it just let me know ASAP.

Glad to have this rolling again. See you again in a week.

dc157 Fall 1906 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Long overdue, but here it is....

I need a retreat by German from Denmark to either Baltic Sea or Skagerrak.
I need a retreat by Russia from Moscow to either Livonia or St. Petersburg, plus I need 1 unit disbanded. (you may choose to disband instead of retreating.)
I need a build by England.
I need a build by Austria. (as soon as you can.)
Conditional builds based on retreats are allowed, but I don't think it will be greatly affected.

I am trying to work with at least two vacation schedules. Austria might not have internet until Monday and England will lose it after Monday. We will see what we can do.

Retreats and builds are due by Sunday 29 July 2008 8pm EST. (with the understanding that Austria might not get access in time and thus I may have to wait a bit.)

With lightning quick typing skills ( and maybe a bit of revenge ??? ) France has sent back his retreat.

France will retreat his Army from Kiel to Holland!

With that lets have moves in by Sunday 8pm EST 22 June 2008.

I will be camping over the weekend, so I will be away for sure Friday thru Mid Sunday.

dc157 Spring 1906 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
After delays from two countries and finally myself, the Spring results are now published.

The Spring brought with it (mostly) a whole lot of nothing. Out of 34 orders a whole 50% of them were Bounced, Cut, Disbanded, or Failed! A whole lot of nothing was on whole. I understand that Austria and Russia might disagree with one forcing the other to disband a unit, and I suppose other countries had some good moves as well.

No retreats, so Fall 1906 will be due on Monday 16th June by 8pm EST.

Fall 1905 Results for dc157 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Cry Havoc! (and let the blood spill) We have two forced disbands and one winter (or retreat) disband as well.

Austria takes Sevestopol from Russia, but leaves Ankara for the Italians.
England and France chase the Russian marines from London and England starts to rebuild.
France drives north further into Germany, but finds nothing gained in his Italian adventures. (Survivors were captured and interned in Italian POW camps. The Red Cross says they are being treated well.)
Germany is split by the French, and yet does not give up any units! (The Free German movement is getting stronger.)
Italy enveloped and crushed the invading French marines! Additionally they are again expanding their armed forces in response to the French threat.
Russia's north is secure.....but the south lost some ground. Hold the line! was the battle cry heard across the southern front. Although Sevestopol was lost the Russian military assures us that no further gains will be made by the advancing enemy.

We have two retreats and then four builds and a removal (unless disbanded during retreats). Here is how we will do this. Germany needs to send a retreat. Russian needs to send a retreat or disband, but if you retreat your fleet in London, then also include your Winter 05 removal (which may still be the Fleet now located in Wales). England needs to send a build. You may send a build order contingent upon whether the Russian fleet retreats or disbands from his current position (however if he retreats and then disbands it anyway then I will use the order based on his retreat). France needs to send two builds. (Lucky you....) You may send contingent builds if you see a need. (I don't think it would help much). Finally, Italy, you must have found enough pieces left from the French fleet because you too get to send in a build order! (Is that two in a row?) You may send contingent build orders, but I don't see why it would help you. (but just to be fair I thought I would offer....lol)

Lets shoot to have these orders in by 8pm EST (currently midnight GMT) on Friday evening 30th of May. Again if I have complete sets of orders before then I will try to get the results out right away.

Last Call for Moves.... dc157 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)

The Fall 1905 moves were due two hours ago.....

About 36 hours ago I sent emails to the two players who have yet to turn in orders. I will adjudicate in the morning by about 9am EST. That should be about 1pm GMT.

dc157 French mistake and misstep. - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I see, and so does the world....

Although the French offer surrender, with drawl, and a heartfelt apology, the Italians have no heart. The French were extending a hand to a country [Turkey] who was being violently attacked by Italy among others. To this end the French moved toward Italy to force a with drawl. Despite the French efforts, Turkey was doomed. France now is offering total with drawl of his forces from Italian regions and thus legitimizing Italy's claim to parts of Turkey, and yet Italy offers the following reply.....hmmmm.

I am offering a formal apology to you and your people. I have definitely overstepped. My aggressions were originally to distract you, to allow Turkey (the other replacement player) a chance to regain his footing. He is now gone and I have lost interest in tangling with the proud Italian people. My orders for my fleet in Rome are simple. Come on home. F Rome - Tyrrhenian Sea will be the first step. Obviously you can block that. I am hoping for a gesture of good faith in return for my offering no further aggression against the Italian people for at least two years. Additionally if allowed to leave Rome, the fleet will continue on to the Western Mediterranean to convoy the army home as well.

dc157 Adjudication for Fall 1907 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Well this was the turn for NMRs....

Germany and Russia were not really any surprise, but Italy also must have been busy. I am sorry but my schedule will just not allow me to wait it out this time. [u:4bf0c3e9a7]As it stands now we will have Winter 1907 builds due by 2300GMT or 6pm EST on Wednesday 6th of August, 2008[/u:4bf0c3e9a7]

The most humorous situation I think I have ever seen happened in Munich and Germany as a whole. Germany should be gone, but alas Austria and France have not been talking (or so it seems) six units stood off over Munich to no success. Germany didn't even order a defensive support, I assume figuring he was doomed, as he should have been.

Russia on the other hand is done with Austria delivering the final death blows.

I need builds from the following no later than Wednesday.

Austria -- 2 builds
England -- 1 build
France -- 2 builds
Italy -- 1 build

One last thing..... The vote for the 4 player draw failed due to no voters, but some clever player offered to propose the same vote again. So again please cast your votes for or against the 4 player draw to include Austria, England, France, and Italy. With only 5 legal votes, and 4 players to be included, it might seem like an easy task, but remember it still only takes one no vote to kill the proposed End Game.

The moves/results...

dc157 Fall 1908 Adjudication - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Well this fall saw some bold moves by England and France (one that suceeded). The fall also saw some entrenched lines formed. It seems despite some unusual moves by France, neither he nor Italy can move the lines. Also with France, but with Austria this time, and over German soil, we see Munich continue to be a battleground, with no winner. Hmmm......

*****************************************************************************************************
Winter 1908 Builds/Removals due Monday September 1st by 4pm EST (2100GMT) If I get them both before then and get a chance to adjudicate I will do so earlier.
*****************************************************************************************************

Austria had one retreat which only had disband or retreat to Finland, so I made the move to Finland.

I now need 1 removal from Austria, and 1 build from England.

****************
Almost forgot!!! I will need orders from EVERYONE for this winter. France and Italy just need to vote!

We have two End Game Proposals to vote on.
1. Three way draw to include: Austria, England, and Italy.
2. Four way draw to include: Austria, England, France, and Italy.

Any no votes or a NMR (which will be a no vote) will fail a EGP. Please turn in your votes with your winter orders, even if you do not have orders to give.

I am at work and cant fix it right now, but I will fix the results as soon as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
DaveE

dc157 Spring 1907 results..... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Sorry for the delay. Yes I am doing better, apparently just pinched a nerve or something while (get this) sitting at a computer! To those who sent them, thank you for your kind words.

As for ending the game.....it has not happened yet.
The three proposals are:
1. Four way draw to include Austria, England, France and Italy. -- failed with 1 no vote and 1 non vote.
2. Solo victory by Austria. - failed with 3 no votes and 1 non vote.
3. Three way draw to include Austria, France and Italy. - failed with 2 no votes, and 1 non vote.

As for Germany, the units manage to remain due in part to France's unusual support orders, but the nation is now in CIVIL DISORDER due to yet another NMR. This means that Germany will not get a vote in the next round of voting.

I have only one EGPsthis turn.
1. Four way draw to include Austria, England, France, and Italy.
[u:4cf730a29f]Please submit your votes along with your fall move orders by Tuesday 19 August 2008 by 6pm EST (2300 GMT).[/u:4cf730a29f]

dc157 Winter 1907 adjudication - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Thank you, thank you, thank you.....

All results are in!

****sorry but my system is not letting me attach files to my email.*******

Austria:
Build A Trieste
Build A Vienna

England:
Build A Edinburgh

France:
Build F Brest
Build A Paris

Italy:
Build F Rome

Russia:
Remove A Prussia
Remove A Livonia

I made a slight mistake in that I didn't ask for everyone to turn in votes for the Winter season (ie Germany) and so it is not fair to cancel the vote due to his not needing to turn in orders.

I will however put that proposal and two others on the table for the Spring due date.

The three proposals are:

1. Four way draw to include Austria, England, France and Italy.
2. Solo victory by Austria.
3. Three way draw to include Austria, France and Italy.

The proposals are in the order I received them and the countries are simply in alphabetical order.

[u:28beff670d]Spring 1908 moves will be due on Tuesday 12th August by 2300GMT / 6pm EST.[/u:28beff670d]

dc157 Fall 1904 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Wow Willie (sorry I had to do it) that was fast.

As the French have requested, his army will disband instead of retreating.

That will give the French a second build. (Maybe that was the point?)

Attached is a corrected dpy file and gif map, however the diplomaticcorp website will still have the old gif map.

Russia lands an advance force in London. England and France hold onto the lowlands, delivering a blow to Germany. Italy easily defends their lands, throwing the French back with gusto!

I would like to thank Jerren for stepping into a tough spot with Turkey. I am sad to see you go. Best wishes with your first little one! I will talk to you again soon.

France is the only retreat and he only has one choice....back to Marseilles. If you wish to disband it let me know ASAP.
