End-Game Statement - ecommander0   (Oct 02, 2008, 7:15 am)
France here,

Well, this is my first ever game of Diplomacy, and, needless to say, its been interesting. I survived on pure luck (thanks Italy, for not destroying me), and now I need to find a new game!

Dc181 Fall 1905 - MattTheLesser   (Sep 23, 2008, 12:58 pm)
Thanks all - not my best showing but I am now convinced that Russia is
at a distinct disadvantage in this variant. I hope one of my draw
proposals pass post-mortem.

Dc181 Fall 1905

I received no moves from Italy for Fall 1905 and Italy has already
used his grace period. I cannot stress how important it is to send
preliminary moves.

Now there are 2 new draw proposals on the table for Winter 1905.

Proposal 1 an AGI draw
Proposal 2 an AI draw

I will stress these points to you, as covered in the DC House Rules
(i've cut out the relevant sections in red)

1) The deadline for voting will be the same as the next spring or fall
orders.

Therefore votes for the proposal are due with the Spring 1906 moves.

2) If an ‘active’ player in control of 1 or more supply centers does
not submit a vote, their vote will be considered a NO and result in
the failure of the EGP. All ‘active’ players must vote YES for an end
game proposal to pass.

Please note that all players are currently 'active' in this game. I
have not had to place any player in CD (yet!)

3) If multiple proposals all pass unanimously in the same turn,
preference will be given in the following order:

* Draws including fewer players

In this case the AI draw will take precedent over the AGI draw if both
are successful.

Dc181 Draw Proposals - deathblade_penguin   (Aug 06, 2008, 12:05 am)
Dc181

Your next deadline is:-

Fall 1903 which is due on Wednesday 13th August at 5pm, Australian EST.

There are 2 draw proposals on the table. Please vote with your Fall moves.

1. An Austria-Germany - Italy draw.
2. A DIAS for all active countries with at least one SC.

A couple of notes on the proposals.

A) If both proposals receive YES votes, the A-G-I will take precedence over the DIAS as it was proposed first ie the AGI will pass and the Dias will fail.
B) If France fails to submit moves for Fall, he will be placed in CD. This will mean that he automatically votes YES for both draw proposals BUT is not an active country for the purpose of the DIAS.

Still in the game... sad that I missed the deadline. Working 60 hours in the last 7 days and moving in the same week is not good for anyone's health or diplomacy.

DC181 Fall 1901 update - douglasefresh at googl...   (Jul 03, 2008, 3:04 pm)
Dear Players,

I won't tell you which player pointed it out to me, but DipCorps House rules clearly state that a NMR (NRR) involving a dislodged unit means that the unit is auto-disbanded - so tough luck for ecommander, who has yet to get in touch (hope all is ok E - please let me know if you are up for continuing...)

Thus the French Fleet in MAO is sunk, which should at least please the British Very Happy

I shall post Autumn 01 maps on the site and via email imminently.

ADDITIONAL!

When I took this game on as GM, it was with the knowledge of the powers-that-be that I would be absent after the 12th July. I'm getting married Smile and I was assured that another GM would be assigned to the game.

Given that one of our players will also be absent from tomorrow (for 2 weeks?!!!) and - although he said he would provide conditional orders for the coming turn/s - given we have not quite reached Winter 1901 satisfactorily, I shall be consulting with the new GM (once assigned) before I hand out deadlines for any further turns.

This game still has a great deal to play and I thank you one and all for your continued participation.

Kind regards
D

Dear Players,

Spring 01 adjudicated - and I am happy to see that it looks unlike any other Spring 1901 map I've enjoyed yet (during my brief foray into the dangerous world of Diplomacy!).

The Seas become increasingly congested and conflict is rife, as national borders are traversed and invaded - It's enough to perplex even the most stoic leader of Europe's seven Great Powers!

The orders submitted for Spring '01 - and the results - were as follows:

Despite the fierce fighting; there are no retreats pending, (although the bold Turkish Fleet on Bulgaria's South Coast, which helped to prevent Italian incursion into the Aegean, can count itself beleaguered at best Wink and so the following mail shall contain both Spring movement as well as Summer maps. In case it doesn't reach you, the maps will, of course, be posted shortly on the DipCorps site.

Orders for FALL 1901 are therefore due to me in one week hence - no later than Tuesday 1st July, at 3pm BST. PLEASE get your prelims to me NOW! Very Happy

Fall 1900 Correction! - douglasefresh at googl...   (Jun 11, 2008, 3:56 am)
Sorry players,

I made a mistake in my adjudication last night. Italy's fleet in Apu should now be in ION.

Good news is, I have heard from our Turkey and he is still in the game (hooray!)

I have a retreat from both Russia and Turkey, but want confirmation from Steve that he is still happy with his choice after this update. We have a little time to play with as Tsar Matt isn't back til the 17th. Winter adjustments will be due to me on the 18th. In the meantime if Steve can confirm/change his retreat, I'll sort out the mess I'm making for myself and update the maps.

If I don;t hear back from Steve in the next 24 hrs, I'll assume that his retreat stands and we shall proceed.

Kind regards

I need a retreat from the Turkish fleet in Greece by 3pm BST tomorrow, which can go to the Aegean Sea, or Bulgaria! (I shall send it to Bul if NRR)

I'll send both maps to all of you in the following mail and post the adjustments needed with the retreat results tomorrow afternoon.

DC181 - Fall 1900 results - douglasefresh at googl...   (Jun 10, 2008, 10:52 am)
Dear Players,

Plenty of action this Fall. Overwhelming German forces have routed the solitary Russian garrison in Warsaw, The French have prevented the English from invading, while Austro-Italian collaboration successfully ejected the Turks from Greece.

I had it pointed out to me by one of our players that I have incorrectly been labeling our deadline time as GMT - which is 1 hour behind my actual British Summertime (BST) status. I shall label up the deadline as BST from now on. And so I am giving Sultan Steve one hours grace. (Edit: No response from Turkey - Steve: Please get in touch as soon as possible to let me know whether or not you are still interested in playing - failure to do so may result in your ejection from the game and all the rigmarole of a replacement being sought).

I shall provide maps as soon as possible - although it will probably be a few more hours til you get the maps and the autumn details as I must go catch my lift in 5 minutes - see what happens when you don't send prelims, and I forget which timezone I live in? Very Happy

Kind regards
D
