There have been 3 editions since that edition of the rules... and on top of that, we have our own set of house rules.
We'll have to see what the GM says.

None of those take precedence over each other - they are meant to be taken as a whole.

The unit disbanded is the one that is furthest from a home center.

Nope, because a fleet in SYR is not two spaces away from a Russian province.

In that case, the fleet in SYR would be removed, because even at the least, the fleet in SYR is 4 spaces away from SEV.

I believe convoys don't count. It is per unit, not per route.

The number of spaces are counted using the shortest path - regardless of whether a unit can move there or not.
