DC161 Knights Who Say Ni! - Spring 829 - Secret Se... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Of course, the Big Cheese made two mistakes. First of all he didn't recognize me: Lemming, Arthur Lemming, Special Investigator, British Dental Association, and second ... (to patient) spit ... by the time I got back from lunch I had every dental surgeon in SW1 waiting for them all in the broom cupboard. Funny isn't it, how naughty dentists always make that one fatal mistake.

The Swedes set sail across the channel in an ambitious convoy while the Scots hole up in the north and tensions flare between the Anglos and the Bretons in the south. There was one retreat needed from the Gaels, but since there was only one option to the Irish Channel I took the liberty. (Rob, please let me know if OTB is preferred.)

Please let me know if you spot any errors. Deadline for Fall 829 orders will be set for Thursday, May 8th (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers!

Hi Monk,
You pretty much jump into a game and see how others react to you and try to get you to do things, think about why they want that, and pick your moves! If you've played those other games, you'll be fine here.

Shenanigans! (dc182) Pre-Game - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi folks, and welcome to this 182nd game of Diplomaticcorp Diplomacy!

Seismic is a fantastic variant, one of my favorites. The last game was
dc99, and from that game we have 2 returning players... Mr.Trout and
Mr.Hoffman, both of which managed mediocre survivals in that go'round.

To them, we add 4 players that I know from other games, and 1 who is
completely new!

Please take a moment to confirm your interest in the game - This is a
fairly complex game because of the Seismic orders and changing map, full
of lots of tactical planning and thought... if you're looking for
something lighter, please let me know now, and we can open the game up
to other players.

Otherwise, expect this game, with this lineup, will likely exceed 6
months of our time!

Last time around, I went random on the assignments, this time I'll take
country prefs if you like. Send to me, by Monday 10am Pacific, and
we'll get this one rolling! (if you have no pref, still send me that so
I know you're in).

Enjoy!
-mike

Be sure to copy orders(at)diplomaticcorp.com (orders(at)diplomaticcorp.com), in case he's not back in time I can still run the turn then. If I end up running it, it'll be at 2pm on Monday. I believe Steve's deadlines were super early on each day, so this 2pm should be well after we've had time to see if he's back or not.

DC170 winter 1906 results! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Once again, the French President has gone missing. In accordance with the rules governing removal of units when no removal orders are received, I will auto-disband the fleet in Liverpool, which is 3 spaces away from France. The French fleet in Tuscany, only 2 spaces away, survives for another turn. Please keep in mind that there is no civil disorder in the Blitz tournament, so France may return to the game at any time.

Spring 1907 orders will be due Monday 5/5 at 3pm Pacific. Thanks!

Good times, these are the good times
Leave your cares behind, these are the good times

Lots and lots of fleet movement with an audacious convoy to North Africa from France. Some slight miscues from Germany, however - with an order for a non-existent unit in Bohemia and no orders for Munich or Tyrolia. It doesn't hurt the Kaiser too badly though - and with no retreats required we move smartly along into Fall 1910.

dc157 Fall 1904 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
The end of year 1904 brings with it the fall of our first power. Turkish forces expend themselves against the Austrians in Ankara. After being repulsed they head southeast to blend with their Muslim brethren in Southwest Asia, while their homelands are traded to and fro by Italy and Austria. Russia lands an advance force in London. England and France hold onto the lowlands, delivering a blow to Germany. Italy easily defends their lands, throwing the French back with gusto!

I would like to thank Jerren for stepping into a tough spot with Turkey. I am sad to see you go. Best wishes with your first little one! I will talk to you again soon.

France is the only retreat and he only has one choice....back to Marseilles. If you wish to disband it let me know ASAP.

Builds for three nations: one each for France, Italy, and Russia. Lets get those in by 8pm EST on Monday 5th of May. Tho I will likely adjudicate on Tuesday morning.

Wow Willie (sorry I had to do it) that was fast.

As the French have requested, his army will disband instead of retreating.

That will give the French a second build. (Maybe that was the point?)

Attached is a corrected dpy file and gif map, however the diplomaticcorp website will still have the old gif map.

dc179 Blackmarch F01 Results [map attachment in se... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Quite Interesting!
EVERYONE wants Munich but Germany holds true.
Russia and Turkey seem to be on the same page...in the wrong way!
Bounces abound, most by Russia and Turkey.
AND France foregoes a guaranteed build in Por to gain entry into the
Med.
An interesting 1902 awaits! Too early to see what alliances hold.

Ah...once again a misorder [this time outlined in the orders below]. As previously committed, builds are due Monday, May 5th at 5pm CST. No retreats are required.

Point of inquiry - what should be our next deadline beyond that? I will be out of town Friday 9th to Sunday 11th. Should we hold orders for Spring 1902 until Sunday OR try to fit in orders by Thursday 5pm on the 8th? Majority rules. In light of votes, we will default to the LATER deadline to make sure that all get a proper chance to play the game.

The DIAS is voted down again (again 3 yes, 2 no votes) despite
this
season seeing a grand total of one unit move.  However,
another DIAS has
been proposed to be voted on this coming spring (which is the
next
season since there are no retreats and no adjustments), which is
due
this coming Tuesday, May 6, at 9 pm eastern.

Once Within - a fairytale (part 3) - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
One day the beautiful princess turned in some moves… and everyone cheered. But her evil stepmother did no such deed. So all her units held.
The end.

Fall 04 is Monday!
