R asked for the dpy fle & I unthinkingly sent him 1 that had C's moves on it. R's moves are logical based on moving to Pun last time & take no advantage that they could have(a long known player). Major apology but no sc effect as C just traded 1 for another so no R gain. Just stupidity...G's NOT on there.

Hey gang, sorry for the delay. Life gets in the way y'know.....

One retreat due, from Italy.  It is due at the same time as adjustments, so you have to figure those out on your own and get them to me by tomorrow.  I'll give a bit of extra time if I don't have them all by 6 pm my time, because I am a bit late tonight.

Italian A Venice can retreat to Tuscany or Rome or Piedmont or OTB.

dc482 fall 1903 - catsfather   (Jan 31, 2014, 1:11 am)
So, it's England and Germany against France ... no, no, Germany is with France ... but maybe France isn't with Germany ... but Germany's against Russia ... or maybe with Russia against Austria ... who's allied with Turkey ... no, no, Turkey's fighting Austria...

Blimey, the only two sets of orders that make sense to me are Italy's and Russia's.

England, Germany, and Turkey all have a build.

Two draw proposals:

1) England and Germany draw.  All others are survivors.

2) Everyone draws.

Russian F St Petersburg(sc) can retreat to Finland.

Austrian A Warsaw can retreat to Livonia.

Turkey build 1.

Also, I had to input Austria's moves as "holds" so I could retreat the units in RP. But it's really a NMR. On the flip side, two other countries did fail to submit orders for one single unit each. So if you read the actual move set, that's why it reads like it does.

*No Pity for those Who NMR*
*Russians Dock at Ankara, Led Astray by Dolphins*
*English Outwit French Convoy*

Hey all,

You guys don't like Austrians, or maybe repeat NMR offenders. Either way, Austria is dismantled by everyone who can reach them. But with Russians taking Ankara, and conflicts in Greece, this may be a case of getting free supply centers rather than a true alliance.

I do still give austria a chance to retreat. Trieste can go to Vienna. Both Bud and Ser can go to Rumania, but obviously not both at once. Since there is technically an option on retreats (which unit goes to Rum), I won't auto-retreat the units. We run retreats and builds together during the blitz, but retreats still come first, so builds can be made conditional based on retreats (for example, "If A tri retreats OTB build F nap, but if A tri retreats to Vie, build A Rom"Wink. This is a potentially more complex build season, so feel free to ask questions if it's unclear what's going on.

Autumn/Winter due tomorrow at 8:00 PM CST.

Winter:
Austria: -3 or -2 (if rum is taken)
If Tri-Vie and one unit goes to Rum remove 1. If all units retreat OTB, remain even.

Italy: +1 (+tri)
Russia: +1 or +2 (+Bud, +Ank, possibly -Rum)

Thanks!

Two years in, and all centres are claimed.  We also have the first home centre taken, as France forces his way into the Burgundian capital.  Allow me to take this time to advise sending preliminary orders, because I can point out possible misorders.  England ordered a unit which does not exist, but the result may be harmless.  Still, consider it a warning.   But back to the game--I should point out that the requirement for a solo is NINE centres.  England and France will vie for that crown.

We have our first retreat phase.  I'd like the Burgundian retreat within forty-eight hours, 01 February.  The result of the retreat will only affect Burgundy's adjustments, so it'll be alright to give me your adjustments at the same time.

Autumn 1426 retreat due 01 February.

I may (but will not necessarily) remind you of this, but I will not chase you. Please put the Game Number, Game Name, Power, Season and order version in the Subject of a new email - don’t  just reply to mine, or your orders may be missed. Germany sends no orders, and his Fleet is dislodged to the dubious safety of Kiel by a combined effort from France and England. France establishes a new Foreign Office in Munich. Apart from his success in retaking Budapest and destroying the Italian garrison there, Austria’s other orders largely failed to motivate his troops and he needs to retreat his F Greece following attack by Turkey. Russia marches into Berlin and Sweden without resistance. Italy fails to get back to Venice after his holiday in Trieste.

Addendum: DC478 Anselm's Ontology: Deadline extend... - Cartesian   (Jan 30, 2014, 5:34 am)
Addendum: given the circumstances I will adjudicate early if all orders are marked FINAL. Please consider doing this.

Please note:
I am very much of the persuasion that deadlines are deadlines. Don't be late!

I may (but will not necessarily) remind you of this deadline. I will acknowledge orders received. Latecomers stand a big risk of NMRing, so why not send preliminary (v1) orders now, in case real life intervenes in the meantime? Please put the Game Number, Game Name, Power, Season and order version in the Subject of a new email - don’t  just reply to mine, or your orders may be missed. If you send v1 orders I will use them if you send no others (I will always use the last orders you send), so no need to reconfirm if you don’t change them.

The deadlines are set so that I have a good chance to adjudicate without delay. If there is to be a delay I will let you know.

Finally, be careful about the format of your orders:
I am running more than one game at once (and playing a few too) and in a typical week will be receiving around 40 Dip emails, sometimes with order updates from players who like to submit preliminaries or who just change their minds. Please make sure that you put the game number (DC47Cool, the current season and the name of your Power in the subject line. Give each version of your orders a number so that I can ignore things that have been updated. e.g. DC478 Germany Fall 1901 v1.
Try to give me your orders in the format that the adjudication comes out in. It is easier for me to process if you state A Rum-Ser or A Rum-->Ser rather than "Rumania attacks Serbia", or "Rum moves to ser". Neither way is right or wrong, but it helps if you operate on my wavelength.
If you order support then you MUST state the location of the unit being supported and where it is being supported to. Thus "A Fin S FNTH-Nw"y is fine, as is "AFin supports FNTH-Norway", etc. I will not accept "A Fin S English attack on Nwy" even if there is only one English unit that could get to Nwy.
If you order a convoy you must order the unit being convoyed AND the convoying fleet(s). Thus A Wal-Bre, F ENG c A Wal-Bre is correct. F ENG c A Wal-Bre will not be accepted as A Wal has not received an order.
Do not use amiguous abbreviations e.g. "Liv" could mean Liverpool (Lpl) or Livonia (Lvn). "Nor" could mean Norway (Nwy) or North Sea (NTH). Some players ( I am one of these) prefer the convention of using capitals for sea areas to aid recognition e.g. GOL, MAO, NTH are seas but Gre, Mar and Nwy are provinces. Feel free to use full names if you prefer (but then make sure you don't mix them up!).

dc437 Can we close this out?

The game has been over since March 2013. Can we adjudicate the results and allocate the points?

DC464 Winter 1907 - Zoterik   (Jan 29, 2014, 3:28 am)
The proposed four-way draw has failed.  Play on.

Aside from the occasional skirmishes between Austria and Germany, this game appears to be the tale of two halves, with both sides of the two major conflicts trying to get an upper hand while England and Russia linger on.  Is elimination in the cards for either of them, or will they have a role to play in deciding who triumphs?  Spring 1908 orders due 03 February.
