DC251 Shadowplay Autumn 1902 adjudication - Slangers   (May 04, 2009, 3:09 pm)
I am having some problems with email at the moment. Well not me specifically, my university periodically gets blocked by hotmail and some other organisations. This is because some idiots within my organisation give out their username and passwords to phishers and spammers, resulting in the university getting labelled as a bad domain. I hope this gets through, if not then I will attempt to send from an alternative account (possibly my wife's).

Anyway, here is the adjudication:

DC251 Shadowplay.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSurprisedfficeSurprisedffice" />
Autumn 1902. In anticipation of the possibility that Austria may be descending into anarchy, Russian and German “peacekeepers” rush across the border to, ”lend assistance”. Fresh from a season of rest, Austrian forces give the Bulgarian outpost of the Turkish empire a good kicking. Left without orders, the Italian units look on whilst the French fleets “bring peace” to the Mediterranean region. Meanwhile, to the north, the English tourists consolidate their foothold in the Scandinavian resorts.

Spring 1902. In which Turkey, Germany and Russia step back from the brink. England scores the first military victory of the campaign. The French enter the Med, and the Italians feign disinterest. Austria fails to order...
This is a revised adjudication. It appears that Turkey did submit orders, but they ended up in my spam folder. I hang my head in shame having made a second error in this game. Sorry Matthew- I really am not victimising you. I have searched the spam folder carefully and there is nothing from Bruce, so the Austrian NMR seems to be the real thing.

I feel I am pretty generous in sending reminders that the deadlines are close. If anyone feels they will struggle to make a deadline, just get in touch to see if I can arrange an extension.

Russia needs to retreat FSweden. Options include Baltic, Gulf of Bothnia, Finland and Skagerrak.

DC251, Fall 1901 ADJUDICATION!!!!!!!! - Slangers   (Apr 18, 2009, 4:40 am)
DC251 Shadowplay.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSurprisedfficeSurprisedffice" />
Fall 1901. In which the English decide that Scandinavia would make a good setting for a winter holiday. The Tsar’s planned summit with the Kaiser in Berlin goes awry when he is refused a visa. The French and Germans get all cooperative in Belgium. Turkey and Russia get very stroppy in Rumania, but to no avail. The Austrian belatedly annexes half of the Balkans.
The adjudication begins with an apology to Matthew. He did submit orders on time (in fact his were the first to come in), but I lost them. Hopefully this aberration will be my only mistake in the game, and my usual efficiency will be applied to the rest of our time together. On with the moves:

DC251 Fall 1901 - Slangers   (Apr 17, 2009, 4:04 pm)
Dear All

The deadline has passed and I am afraid the news is not good. I have not received orders from Austria or Turkey and I am therefore not going to be able to adjudicate this season. Matt and Bruce you now have 24 hours to submit orders (i.e. by 11:00 GMT on Saturday 18th April). If I don't receive anything in that time then I will assume you are no longer playing. I will put the game back into recruiting mode and get a couple of replacement players. That will of course give us a further delay as those players will need some time for negotiation, but I will keep that period as short as practicable.

All those of you who have submitted orders- you of course have an extra 24hrs to make any tweaks you see fit.

Sorry for the delay chaps. I'll pass on more news as soon as I have it.

Dear All

Just under 5 hours to the deadline now. I have orders from 3 people so far...

Remember, if there is an NMR this season I will (annoyingly) have to hold the game over and seek a replacement player(s). Beyond this fall season, NMRs will count as NMRs and we may be looking at civil disorder.
