DC267 Winter 2013 Results - MattTheLesser   (Oct 15, 2009, 6:39 pm)
The draw is voted down, so the battle for the Arctic will continue into
2014! The final movement season of 2013 sees a new board leader, as
Denmark takes the North Pole from the Russians and now controls the most
supply centers (10). Russia is down to 8 after also losing the Beaufort
Sea to the resurgent Canadians. Also, amazingly, both of our one-center
powers manage to not only reach safe waters for their fleets but also
stay in the game; Norway's survival is especially noteworthy given the
fact that the Barents Sea is completely surrounded by foreign units.

There are no retreats but there are 2 new endgame proposals, a Danish
solo and a Russian solo. The deadline for votes on these will not be
until the deadline for Spring 2014 orders, but I will publish the
results if I received votes from everyone before then.

The next deadline is for Winter 2013 adjustments; those will be due this
coming Monday, October 19, at 9 pm eastern. Adjustments due are listed
below the adjudication and, as always, I will adjudicate as soon as I
have results from all required parties.

DC267 Fall 2013 Results - MattTheLesser   (Oct 10, 2009, 1:58 pm)
The draw is voted down, so the battle for the Arctic rages on! As usual
the fall is filled with plenty of positioning moves, but points of
interest include a Danish army setting up camp at the North Pole on the
heels of the leaving Russians and a bounce in the Gulf of Alaska that
causes a whole chain of units to remain in place. We also have an
interesting situation for the winter involving our one-center powers;
both the Americans' and the Norwegians' last fleets are currently
anchored in seas that are going to freeze for the winter (see list below
adjudication), so failure to escape to warmer waters would have fatal
consequences!

There are no retreats, so we progress directly to Winter 2013, which
will be due this coming Wednesday, October 14, at 9 pm eastern. We also
have another draw proposed, this time for a 3-way share of the victory
between Canada, Denmark, and Russia. So please include your votes for
this with your winter orders.

DC267 Summer 2013 Results - MattTheLesser   (Sep 29, 2009, 11:40 am)
Our two two-center powers are now both one-center powers: the USA loses
both its centers from last year but manages to survive by seizing
control of the oil harvesting plants in the Chukchi Sea, and the Norway
holds onto its oil reserves in the Barents Sea after the Danes vacate it
in favor of Tromso. In other news Russia doesn't grow for the first
time in a while, but Canada manages to up his center count to 5 by
reclaiming Yellowknife.

There are no retreats, so we move directly to Summer 2013 adjustments,
which will be due this Thursday, October 1st, at 9 pm eastern.
Adjustments due are listed below the adjudication, and, as always, I
will adjudicate as soon as I have orders from all required parties.

Also, we have a proposal for Russia and Denmark to share in a draw. By
my house rules the votes are not due until the deadline for the next
movement season, which will most likely be this coming Monday, October
5, but if everybody sends their votes before then I will post the
results immediately. Remember that the proposal will require an
affirmative vote from all 5 players to pass.

DC267 Spring 2013 Results - MattTheLesser   (Sep 23, 2009, 11:55 pm)
Sorry for the delay; the last two days have been ridiculously busy.
This season sees the Norwegians pushed to the brink as the Danes force
their way into the Barents Sea, leaving Tromso as the only center in
which a Norwegian unit still resides. The Americans also see foreign
units claiming their centers as the Russians finally head to Anchorage
and the Canadians head back to Yellowknife; however, the Americans look
well positioned to survive past at least the next adjustment phase as
they follow the ice melt and sail into the Chukchi Sea.

There was one retreat needed as the Norwegian fleet in the Barents Sea
was dislodged; for the sake of speed I have retreated it to the Kara
Sea. Kevin, if you would prefer Novaya Zemlya or OTB just let me know.

The next deadline will be for Summer 2013, and that will be this coming
Monday, September 28, at 9 pm eastern. Don't forget about the
territories melting for the summer (listed below the adjudication)!

DC267 Winter 2012 Results - MattTheLesser   (Sep 15, 2009, 11:00 am)
So first off I would like to point out my stupidity to you all, as I
just noticed when I went to do the adjudication that all the talk about
the Norwegian fleet in the Sea of Okhtosk was because there was actually
one on the map; I just thought someone was making some kind of joke that
I didn't get! Anyways, at least I got a good laugh out of it.

As for the game, the winter brings more of the same as Russia and
Denmark continue to grow and Norway and the USA continue to have a hard
time. The Russians finally reclaim their home center in Magadan,
although the USA manages to stay at two centers by finally taking
Yellowknife from the Canadians. And, speaking of the Canadians, they
make what might be the most interesting move of the season by sending
that lone army further east to the Arctic Wasteland; only time will tell
if it will reap rewards so far from home.

There are two retreats: American F Magadan may retreat to Sea of
Okhtosk, Trans-Siberian Railroad, or OTB, and Canadian A Yellowknife may
retreat to Victoria Island or OTB. These retreats and the Winter 2012
adjustments will be due this Thursday, September 17, at 9 pm eastern.
Adjustments due are listed below and, as usual, they may be conditional
on the retreats; I will publish the results as soon as I have orders
from all required parties.

Damn history!  Whenever Russia achieves a position of dominance...this happens!  Stupid revolutions...

Odd that the rebels managed to build their own fleet, leaving mine untouched.  Must have been the submariners out of Petropavlosk.  Never trust those glowing jerks.

DC267 Fall 2012 Results - MattTheLesser   (Sep 09, 2009, 9:47 pm)
Not too much to comment on this season as most simply attempt to improve
their positioning. Russia is the only one to move into an enemy center
as his armies march onto the frozen Beaufort Sea.

There are no retreats, so we move directly to Winter 2012, the deadline
for which will be this coming Monday, September 14, at 9 pm eastern.
Don't forget to account for the freezing territories (listed below the
adjudication)!

DC267 Summer 2012 Results - MattTheLesser   (Sep 01, 2009, 5:32 pm)
Another summer, and another army sacrificed to the Yermak Plateau! This
time is it Norway who allows an army to drown there. Drowning also
occurs in the Beaufort Sea, from which the American army is unable to
escape. In other news, it was a big season for Denmark, as the Danes
take a home supply center off of both Canada and Norway to vault
themselves into a tie for the lead with the Russians, who decide they
like the small-town feel of Barrow better than the hustle and bustle of
Anchorage.

There was only one retreat and it only had one option, so I have
auto-retreated the American A Western Canada - Juneau. Jerry, if you
want it OTB just send me the build to which such an action would entitle
you.

The deadline for Summer 2012 adjustments will be this Thursday,
September 3, at 9 pm eastern. Adjustments due are listed below the

DC267 Spring 2012 Results - MattTheLesser   (Aug 26, 2009, 1:40 am)
There seem to have been some miscommunication this season as multiple
supports were voided due to the order supported not being given. But is
this the result of a lack of communication or some particularly cunning
diplomacy? Who knows?! As for orders that did succeed we have
interesting developments in both the Atlantic and Pacific. In the
former, Canada and Denmark do a bit of a switcheroo as Denmark sails
into the Labrador Sea on the rudder of a Canadian fleet entering the
Denmark Strait. And in the latter, the USA is put on the ropes as
Russia is able to convoy an army to Anchorage, possibly a bit of revenge
for the American fleet that still sits in the Russian home port of Magadan.

Despite all the action we have no retreats, so we progress directly to
Summer 2012, which will be due this coming Monday, August 31, at 9 pm
eastern. Don't forget the territories melting for the summer, which are
listed below the adjudication!
