Spring 1902 - m_don_j   (Aug 19, 2009, 1:58 pm)
Gents,

A Little input from your observer/resource; As soon as you get teh adjudication for a turn, send in prelim orders. That way you won't suffer any Nmr's (usually), and it's a big help for any GM. Just putting that out there.

Hey there guys... so, the deadline for spring moves comes in 10 minutes and I have a grand total of one set... and that doesn't include the players who asked me to speed up the game. I don't think five days is particularly quick, but if you don't have a chance in those five days to do a little email diplomacy, it's possible to ask for an extention. Now, I guess I'll be granting everyone the extention here because just about all of you need it. So, we'll try for the same time tomorrow. Unfortunately, I won't have a chance to adjudicate until pretty late in the evening tomorrow and even that isn't a guarantee, but please try to get your moves in by noon CDT tomorrow.

I am one of the NMRed players. Sry. I think 5 days is still WAY TOO LONG and no one keeps up on the communication because they say, "I have 5 days to play this turn -- I will check on it tomorrow." And we all know that because of the lack of urgency tomorrow never comes.

Anyway, I am sending in my moves pronto ...

DC269 - Winter 1901 - Viper   (Aug 14, 2009, 12:54 pm)
The long wait is over! We have all the builds in and ready to go. Some interesting developments I think I see going on, but then again, I'm not privy to all your conversations. As far as I know, we're free of delays now for quite a while, so we'll be able to get the game going at a fairly good clip.

Just a little note about builds... I'm not a very picky GM, but some are. Your builds should be written in the form you see below. I got some orders that just said "F location" and while I know exactly what you mean, some people will actually want "Build F location." Just a little heads up for some of your future games.

Your builds:

Austria:
Build A Budapest
Build F Trieste

England:
Build F Edinburgh

France:
Build F Marseilles
Build A Paris

Germany:
Build A Munich

Italy:
Build A Venice

Russia:
Build A Warsaw
Build F St. Petersburg (nc)

Turkey:
Build F Smyrna

Next Deadline:
Spring 1902 moves are due on Wednesday, August 19, 12noon CDT.

Hey everyone... it was pointed out to me that I failed to move the Turkish forces on the map. Consider that fixed. Find the revised map attached.

DC269: 24 hour reminder - Viper   (Aug 08, 2009, 11:15 am)
A quick little reminder that the fall 1901 moves are due tomorrow at noon CDT. If anyone needs extra time on a set of moves, an extension can be requested. In most cases, as long as the request comes before the deadline, extensions can be granted, but they have to be requested before the deadline.

I'm looking forward to seeing what might happen.

DC269 - Spring 1901 - Viper   (Aug 04, 2009, 12:26 pm)
Well, well... we're off to an interesting start. A few bounces... a few bold moves. We'll see which of those are true and who's bluffing...

I've been asked if it's possible to speed it up just a little bit, so I'm going to try giving you all five days instead of a whole week for major seasons and then two days for minor ones. I think that's actually a really good pace... not super quick, but not dragging it out at all.

Below, you'll find the moves, results and the new map is attached. You can also find all the information on the website at the dc269 page.

Austria:
A Vienna - Galicia
A Budapest - Serbia
F Trieste - Albania

England:
F London - English Channel
F Edinburgh - North Sea
A Liverpool - Wales

France:
F Brest - Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Paris - Burgundy
A Marseilles - Piedmont

Germany:
F Kiel - Denmark
A Berlin - Kiel
A Munich - Ruhr

Italy:
A Rome - Tuscany
A Venice - Piedmont
F Naples - Ionian Sea

Russia:
F Sevastopol - Rumania
A Moscow - Ukraine
A Warsaw - Galicia
F St. Petersburg - Gulf of Bothnia

Turkey:
A Constantinople - Bulgaria
F Ankara - Constantinople
A Smyrna - Ankara

Next Deadline: Sunday, August 9, 12noon CDT. I realize that's on a weekend, but you don't have to wait until then to submit your moves... in fact, I suggest submitting something (preliminary moves) as soon as you can.

DC269 - Game Start - Viper   (Jul 28, 2009, 10:03 am)
Hey there everyone, Viper here. I'll be your gm for DipCorp game 269, a standard game on the standard map. This game is meant for those who are somewhat new to the game, and especially new to playing it online. Here's how this works:

All communication will happen via email. Below you will find all the email addresses of your co-conspirators. Each major season (spring, fall) will take about a week, while retreats and adjustments will be given three days. Your moves will be sent to me, and once I receive them, I will email you back acknowledging their receipt. If you don't hear from me it means I didn't get them... that happens once in a while.

Preliminary moves are strongly encouraged. After you get an adjudication, send me a set of orders right away. That way your units won't be caught doing nothing. You're allowed to change your orders as many times as you wish. If a deadline comes and goes, and you have no orders submitted, you will be charged an "NMR" (no moves received) and your units will hold.

If you have any questions regarding rules or strategy, I am quite willing to help. Note that whatever tips I give will not reveal anyone's moves... I am impartial and will stay that way. Also, should you wish, Mikael Johansson (m_don_j(at)hotmail.com) is willing to act as a soundboard for strategy as well.

So, without further ado, here is the list of players and their locations:
