Dear Players,

Thanks to Rob, for sticking it out with his *shrugging* and supporting for the last few seasons Very Happy

Thanks for playing Rob, its certainly been an interesting game to wait for so long before an elimination.

Indeed; congratulations to all of you for getting this far.

No retreats apart from Russia's inevitable demise, as the MPC F Wes is sunk by the combined Frankish and Hannoverian navies, so both Fall & Autumn maps attached. Winter 1903 adjustments due to me by this Thursday 12noon GMT.

Thanks

DC301 - TTP - SPRING 1903 CORRECTED MAP - Douglas_E_Fresh   (Apr 20, 2010, 1:25 pm)
Dear Players,

Attached is an updated map with the corrected result in the Gulf of Lyon. The Fleet of the Mediteranean People's Front has been sunk successfully by the Frankish Fleet sailing from Tuscany. I'm sorry I messed this up before.

I still need the retreat order from Frankish Fleet MAO - due on Thursday 12noon GMT, but I shall post the Summer 1903 map as soon as I receive a final order from Michael.

Thanks for your patience.

DC301 - GAME CORRECTION - Douglas_E_Fresh   (Apr 20, 2010, 9:01 am)
Sorry players,

I believe the adjudication issue I highlighted in the write up was done wrongly. I am fairly sure - although I am seeking clarification; that the MPC Fleet in Lyon is sunk by the Frankish F Tus.

Big apologies for the inconvenience. I shall confirm asap. The retreat deadline is given another 24 hours as I am working and probably won't get to the bottom of this for another few hours.

Dear Players,

A crazy turn to adjudicate - particularly in the South Western corner of the map. I was unsure whether or not F Lyo was dislodged, but I ran the scenario through Realpolitik and I think ultimately it is F Tys - Lyo which prevents F Tus from gaining Lyo itself.

The Russian Army has been destroyed by the Yugoslav advance, but the Frankish Fleet in MAO may retreat to Por, Gas, Bre, Iri, NAf or OTB.
Michael, if you could let me know in the next 24 hours I'd be most grateful - default retreat will be to (Home Centre) Portugal

Our deadline for Fall 1903 is next Tues. 27th April at 12noon GMT.

Best to all of you

DC301 - TTP - WINTER 1902 MAP - Douglas_E_Fresh   (Apr 15, 2010, 5:59 am)
"...due to the apparent cooperation with the Turkish. The Frankish Visigoths support the largest combined force, but both the UKGB&S and MPC match their fleets in number. It goes without saying that the Yugoslav legions control central Europe, but.."

Professeur Griffe allowed his attention to stray from the monotone report his adjutant was in the process of delivering and furrowed his brow as he stared deeply at the half empty bottle of Montrachet Grand Cru.

Was the bottle half-empty? ...or was it half-full?

The Professeur took another sip from his silver goblet and decided that unless the Frankish lines could be infiltrated and additional supplies appropriated in the coming months, then the bottle could certainly be considered half-empty.

DC301 - TTP - FALL 1902 MAPS - douglasefresh at googl...   (Apr 13, 2010, 7:03 am)
Agent Fresh surveyed the bleak landscape from the foothills North of Chernivtsi. Columns of smoke gave evidence to both the Yugoslav advance as well as the destruction of grain stores and supply yards by the retreating Russophile militias. Apparently Turkey now held the shipyards of Sevastopol and despite the potential for stiff fighting ahead, as the Russians found their backs to the wall, Fresh felt confident that his unit wouldn't have to face too much of it.

Collating reports from the North of Europe, Fresh wondered at the coordination of the separate realms, and wondered where the fortunes would lead them next.

The distant artillery barrage grew more intensive and Professeur Griffe leant toward the driving seat of his modified Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, tapping the skinny adjutant on the shoulder with his cane. Despite the aide's nervous fumbling with the key, the car purred impatiently into life - and it's customised caterpillar-track rear wheels drove the Commander forward through the mud of No-Mans-Land on the Marseille border, without a slip or a slide.

'Eggy' Fresh's latest report was on file, although the field agent was sketchy about the result of the Naval Battle of Lyon, and the Professeur made a mental note to reprimand the Head of Surveillance next time he had the opportunity... although when that might be, the grizzled Overseer had no idea... All border positions had reported heavy fighting for several months now and the Professeur had a feeling that Europe was fast approaching the eye of the storm.

DC301 - TTP - Winter 1901 MAP - douglasefresh at googl...   (Apr 01, 2010, 7:15 am)
The Winter 1901 Map is attached.

I had one instance of No Build Received from the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Scandinavia, consequentially I have removed the required unit according to the DC House Rules:

1 Units furthest from the nearest home center before units closer to the nearest home center
2 Units not in a supply center before units in a supply center if equidistant from home
3 Fleets before armies if still no unique unit selected per above
4 Alphabetical

F Hel was the only unit to conform to this rule. I hope you all deem that acceptable. David - if you could let me know you are still in control of the UKGB&S, I'd be most grateful

Deadline for Spring 1902 is next Tuesday 8th April at 12noon GMT

DC301 - TTP - AUTUMN 1901 MAP - douglasefresh at googl...   (Mar 31, 2010, 6:02 am)
Professeur Griffe raised his field glasses once more and steadied himself against the strong wind, which gusted around the bell tower of the Schaffhausen Church.

It was a whistle-stop tour to key points on the Swiss perimeter, checking countless border guard posts and observing each of the five provinces in turn, which contained a rebel army.

In the gentle valley, beyond the guard towers and the fences,  the Commander of the League of Shadows could make out tiny figures running around, in the fields outside a hamlet. Some appeared to be wearing Frankish Visigothic uniforms, although in a varied state of dress.

The Professeur
ha-rumphed and passed the binoculars to an adjutant.

"What is it they're doing?"

The skinny aide coughed as he peered through the lenses.

"Sir, Umm, they appear to be kicking a ball about, Sir"

Puffing and panting another adjutant reached the top of the steps of the bell-tower and passed a coded memo to the Commander.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry about that. I was on a business trip and moving yesterday from
7a-2a the next day and was only able to get to a map a couple of hours
ago. I've submitted my retreat; apologies for the delay!

DC301 - TTP - SPRING 1901 MAPS - douglasefresh at googl...   (Mar 23, 2010, 7:37 am)
Fully expecting to have faced down the Russian Army, Agent Fresh had prepared himself with a tin of tobacco in one breast pocket and a small leather bound volume of Yugoslav poetry in the other. It was the closest thing to armour that Fresh had managed to find, but as it was, the preparations for being shot through the heart had proven unnecessary, and Fresh led his unit of cavalry across the sunny plains of Tarnopol without incident.

Fresh let the sun warm his face, but the furrow of his brow returned as he imagined what the Fall would undoubtedly bring.

DC301 - Taking The Peace - Winter 1900 Map - douglasefresh at googl...   (Mar 18, 2010, 5:13 pm)
The League of Shadows had held the luxurious position of being the
only covert agency capable of fielding agents and controlling the
political machinations of Europe for almost five hundred years. What
had seemed a palace of near-divine unilateral control was rapidly
coming to resemble, Agent Fresh surmised, something of a busy village
marketplace. You could barely move through Europe's cluttered corridor
for poorly disguised spies and companies of club-wielding
counter-intelligence thugs. Report after contradictory report had been
submitted and re-submitted to him throughout the Winter months and
finally Agent Fresh had compiled what he could only hope was the
definitive dossier concerning the produce of the continent's new
military industrialists. It made inspirational reading if you happened
to own a shipyard, or perhaps a small arms factory, but - Fresh
sniffed a thin droplet of mucus back into his reddened nostril - would
probably have a more depressing effect if you happened to be say, a
doctor, or maybe a teacher.

Fresh patted the flank of the stabled mare he was hiding behind, to
calm her as she whinnied and tried to shy away from the Electric
Telegram as the Agent tapped his report to Zurich:

DC301 - TTP - Autumn 1900 Map - douglasefresh at googl...   (Mar 17, 2010, 3:59 am)
Proffeseur Griffe sipped his coffee and cast his eyes over the beautifully crafted  map in front of him. Aside from its' main feature, the map room of the League of Shadows was sparsely furnished and gloomy, a few sombre wooden chairs lined the ancient bare stone walls. In the centre, however, spanning a table top measuring fifteen feet by twenty; a detailed map of Europe was brightly illuminated by lamps, suspended by heavy chains from the low ceiling of the catacomb.

The Commander of the secret organisation leaned slowly forward and nodded to a hovering adjutant. The subordinate obeyed the silent order and hurriedly removed one of the carved wooden pieces from Bulgaria and returned it to its' box.

TTP - DC301 - Fall 1900 Maps - douglasefresh at googl...   (Mar 16, 2010, 3:38 pm)
Agent Fresh handed over control of his unit of Budapestian horsemen to the Lieutenant and rode briskly across the yards of the Hofstallungen and into the main stable building. The Third Yugolslav Army had established control of Vienna's industrial centre and Agent Fresh had been spending as much time relaxing and collating his reports as he had been drilling his new command.

The rest of Tesarik's forces had been heavily engaged however - and though bitter fighting had seen the Turks hold on to Greece, Tesarik himself had utilised the support of the Russians in Rumania and led the First Army into Bulgaria. Whether the Turkish Army had been decimated or managed to retreat to their capital remained to be seen.

Conflict had also exploded on the Northern half of Fresh's map as the last free strongholds or Europe had fallen to the sword of its' rising new powers. Despite capturing Munich and Berlin, Greater Hannover had lost three centres to the United Kingdom and to the Frankish Goths. Russia indeed had not been idle: As well as colluding with the Yugoslavians, She had sent the majority of her forces to the North, taking Norway from the UKGBS and snatching freedom from the people of Warsaw.

TTP (DC301) - Spring & Summer 1900 Maps - douglasefresh at googl...   (Mar 09, 2010, 7:36 am)
Along with countless scores of other determined-looking men, Agent Fresh shuffled slowly forward in the queue, which ran along the walls of the Amalienburg, and through the gates of the Hofstallungen. So much for the crisp air of the Alpes - The throng seeking induction into Tesarik's People's Army gave off a collective scent more akin to subterranean waste disposal systems. Duly arriving before a surly quartermaster, Fresh was issued with a simple, but serviceable new firearm and instructions for his mustering point.

Due to the tip-off from 'Kamerad T'; Fresh had infiltrated Vienna before the Yugoslavian Army's arrival and now, it seemed, his next destination would be decided by the head of a military coup, currently conducting his operations from Serbia. Good news that Kamerad T had regained his liberty, although his colleague asserted with some seriousness in his report that he "may never again buy goats in Sarajevo".

So much for working as Head of the Surveillance Dept. of Europes' oldest and most secret power... It was back to basics
for Agent Fresh: No doubt standing tall, charging forward and firing shots at similarly instructed strangers would prove his lot for the next few months. A prospect, as he trudged through the paved byways of the Hoffburg, that Fresh in no way relished. Ah well - there was no way back now: -

Welcome to the Twentieth Century.

Thanks for getting orders in on time folks, I hope you will forgive the continual prodding reminders as we draw close to deadline. This can of course be avoided with the simple act of sending prelimiary orders as soon as you have viewed the attached maps Smile
No retreats, so Summer map is attached too.

Our next turn is Fall 1900, and I shall be adjudicating slightly later than usual. I shall attempt next tuesday night, but there is a chance you will not receive the adjudication until Wednesday 17th.
HOWEVER! DEADLINE FOR FALL 1900 REMAINS AS: NEXT TUESDAY 16th MARCH 12NOON GMT
Despite my comment above, I will not have a chance to send reminders for this turn, so please make sure you supply me with preliminary, or final orders at your earliest convenience.

Orders are due for Spring 1900 in less than 24 hours. I have only received orders (of any kind) from four of you. Please ensure you get your orders to me as soon as possible.
I shall be treating NMRs with the utmost seriousness in this game and hope that an excellent game so far will not be unbalanced by any player failing to submit orders in a timely manner.

That is all
