DC 320: extension request - Blueraider0   (Jul 13, 2010, 10:23 am)
Ok, this is silly.  There have been several times when extensions should have been called but were not, I suppose out of respect for the game.  But NMRs are even worse - though I will say I've benefitted quite a bit from each one.

I'm going to request an extension.  As some of you know, I've been home sick from camp with what is probably Lyme disease, and now I'm feeling better enough to go back to camp, and am now swamped with paperwork that didn't get done in my absence, and the supply closet also fell into some disrepair.  So I think I'm going to need some more time.  I will also say publicaly I need to talk to both Alfred and Fletch, and Fletch is gone and Alfred probably also has his own backlog to deal with after his trip.

So, dear GM, I know you have not had to deal with such selfishness in this game, but I humbly ask for an extension until after the weekend.

Thanks!
-Maslow

Thanks!

dc320 - The build Not Ordered - FuzzyLogic   (Jul 08, 2010, 1:28 pm)
The Build Not Ordered

Two units to choose in a game so good
And sorry I could not opt for both
And be one builder long I stood
And thought first fleet no - army I should
Put on the board for my new growth

Then thought the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps a better use
Deadline approaching I sit and stare
My GM patiently wondering where
the unit is I will produce

I shall be telling this with a sigh
of this exciting game we braved
Two units to pick from - but chose I -
I couldn't decide - so the turn flew by
And I had all my builds waived

Smile

1.5 hours.

dc320 f05 results! - FuzzyLogic   (Jul 06, 2010, 3:34 pm)
Having forgot their toothbrush, Londoners visiting Norway make a quick stop back at home... and Turks, well, get eaten alive by the vultures in the east -- Austria and Italy dismantling the Turkish empire like a couple of really bad Jenga players.  "I want this piece! Ok, but I get... <crash!>"  And we finally have our winner of the first eliminated honors, thanks Jeff for a good game!  Better luck next time, and feel free to write up an EOG for me and send it to me while the game is fresh in your mind.  I'll hold it till the end.

Of the 6 remaining, everybody gets to do exactly one thing this winter!  (whether it be build or remove...)  How's that for everyone gets to play?

Austria: Build
England: Build
France: Remove
Germany: Build
Italy: Build
Turkey: Remove

Adjustments, by Thu!  3pm Central, tho I'll send out whenever I have all 6.
Enjoy,
-mike

After a little break we're back on!  And things aren't getting any better for Russia... Now with Moscow surrounded and Rumania under Austrian control, the walls close in.  An English fleet manages to escape from Belgium while France and Germany bounce, keeping it blue for one more turn... but how long will it last?  France has a key retreat here which could tip the scales...

France to retreat ENG!
Russia to retreat Rum!

Retreats by Tues 3pm Central, or whenever I get both orders.
Enjoy,
-mike

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."
