Sorry for the delay folks!

Lots of action this round… Persians and Thessalians have a
great round, Ionians, well, not so great… Boeotia MIA?  Poul if I
don’t hear from you by the winter deadline your units will go into Civil

join any veteran-only games that don’t allow players who have CD’d
previously!  (so get back to me)

With 2 years done, let me take a moment to suggest prelims… I
know a few of you guys are new, but the best Diplomacy habit you can get into
is the habit of using prelims!  (that, and talk to every player every
round) When you get results (aka NOW) pick what you think your most likely set,
and turn them in.  Immediately.  That way you’ve got at least
something turned in.  As the turn progresses and you get a chance to talk
to ppl, you can revise as the deadline gets closer.  But it’s really
seeming like I get up to the day of the deadline, and at least half of you
don’t have anything turned in!  I’ve been a bit lax in this game knowing
it’s got quite a few newcomers – but in a  game of regulars you would not
get that leeway!

Now with a 2nd year done, I *am* going to start running
the turns right at the deadlines.  I usually do this in every game…
(except when I’m slacking off or late)

Let me also point out that no game is ever lost!  Even w a
couple units left… The DC Invitational was won this year by a Turkey who got
stuck on 3 centers for the first 10 years of the game!

GM spiel – OUT!  Smile

Thessalian troops ordered to sneak into the Macedonian home center of Therma under cover of night and disguised inside a large wooden dolphin are rebuffed as the troops from Piera fail to fall for their ploy...
And in the south, Ionia gets just a bit of support to force their way into two contested year 1 centers.  I guess that's going +2 the hard way!

Hey everyone,
Welcome to the game – Sea Monsters, Cyclops and Sirens, Oh My!
(again)

As most of you know, we’ve been holding for a while to get this one going… variants can be hit and miss like that.  But now we have 7 players, and I’ve heard from all 7 at some point confirming interest.  For some of you tho, that was a month ago.

So let’s get set for a little déjà vu, and confirm again!  (just to be sure all are good, nobody has moved on, etc).  With a title like this, the game is destined to be a classic, and it never hurts to revisit a classic twice so let’s have those reconfirms!  Reply to the group, just to let all know we’re here and ready to go.  This should only take a day or two, then we can assign powers (random) and get it rolling!

Remember you can find anything you need about the game on the game page:
www.diplomaticcorp.com?game=dc334

If you ever don’t get results from me and you think you may have missed them, be sure to check there.  Check thru my house rules.  They’re linked there on the game page.  They cover some key things like delays, extensions, NMR’s, and so on.  All good stuff to know about in advance.

Me… I live in the Chicago suburbs, and take a pretty active role in the operations of dc.  Aside from that I’m an IT guy for work, and have been building a mega playhouse / tree fort in our back yard for the last year and a half, and some major LEGO structures in our basement.  All with our 3 little kids, 1, 3, and 7.

I guess that’s about it for now!  Let’s see if we can get it going by the end of the week.
Enjoy,
-mike

If you ever don't get results from me and you think you may have missed them, be sure to check there.  Check thru my house rules.  They're linked there on the game page.  They cover some key things like delays, extensions, NMR's, and so
on.  All good stuff to know about in advance.

Me. I live in the Chicago suburbs, and take a pretty active role in the operations of dc.  Aside from that I'm an IT guy for work, and have been building a mega playhouse / tree fort in our back yard for the last year and a half, and some
major LEGO structures in our basement.  All with our 3 little kids, 1, 3, and 7.

I guess that's about it for now!  Let's see if we can get it going by the end of the week.
Enjoy,
-mike

Subject: dc334: Post-Pre-Game!

Hey everyone,
Welcome to the game ??? Sea Monsters, Cyclops and Sirens, Oh My!
(again)

As most of you know, we???ve been holding for a while to get this one going??? variants can be hit and miss like that.  But now we have 7 players, and I???ve heard from all 7 at some point confirming interest.  For some of you tho, that was a month ago.

So let???s get set for a little d??j?? vu, and confirm again!  (just to be sure all are good, nobody has moved on, etc).  With a title like this, the game is destined to be a classic, and it never hurts to revisit a classic twice so let???s have those reconfirms!  Reply to the group, just to let all know we???re here and ready to go.  This should only take a day or two, then we can assign powers (random) and get it rolling!

Remember you can find anything you need about the game on the game page:
