Thanks Mike; that was the page I was working from –
the terminlogoy’s different; they call that a strait.  But as long as I

Ah, check the wiki page, www.dipwiki.com?title=Seismic.

In the section on isthmuses… if you connect two land zones which divides two sea zones, then the default is for them to then be treated like Denmark-Sweden.  That is, no coasts, fleets can enter and exit either side.  That’s easily represented in map form via a canal right on the border.

One can (but doesn’t have to) specifiy you’d prefer in the join, only a canal in one province or the other (leading to dual coasts in one province), or none at all (leading to dual coasts on both provinces)

The English fleet is now on the West Coast of London (bordering ENG).

Thanks Mike; chaos already!

Can you clarify for me please what rules we’re playing under.  The orders “canal” and “no canal” don’t seem to come either from the original rules nor from AceRunner’s Revisions (where canals would be through one territory or another, rather than “straits” running between them).

Thanks

Hi Steve.  The least good thing about that was the certainty
that it gives Turkey two builds!  Not a lot to be done about that I think
for the moment (although I won’t point out to him that a convoy to Serbia
is his best move!), but we need to watch it.

The situation is more complicated than I outlined in my note
including Turkey, including A ordering Bud-Vie (which is where he’ll
finish up anyway!)

Elsewhere, England seems happy, although the Channel divide
will hamper him.  You have options to consider, but for Turkey and me the
Fall looks pretty straightforward.

Then it’s Seismics....

Results are out!  The face of Europe is forever changed... Volcanoes shoot up in the Belgian lowlands, displacing all that water from the Channel into the interior of France... Serbia gains a coast on the Black Sea... Italians in Trieste??  Germans in Burgundy??  So many units lined up around Rumania... I can't wait to see what happens next!  This game is so much fun to watch.  Remember this Thu/Fri is a holiday for most Americans, so next deadline is the following Monday - November 28, 3pm Central!

First tho, England must immediately choose if he wishes his F Lon to exist on EC or WC of London.  Whenever you decide Kevin, just send to the group.  By Monday?

HI All,

Yes, sorry, I was out of the office all week last week flying around the country for work.

Am back now though and ready to rock...

A Friday deadline extension would be useful for me so that I could get some initial negotiations up and running..

Cheers,

Daniel

Please note I got an Out of Office reply from Dan in Australia... I didn't know he'd be out, but it said "till Monday".  If that's the case, and I don't hear back sooner then I'll probly push the deadline to Friday instead so all can have ample time for the first turn.

Here we go!  Spring deadline - 1 week:  Wednesday 11/16, 3pm Central!

Don't forget to turn in a Seismic order WITH your spring orders.  The orders are processed first, and the seismics next.  So you have to anticipate where your units will be as a result of the movement in planning your seismic orders.

There is no map attached since for at least this first turn, it's just the same old standard map you probly all know by heart.

Our game is dc401.  It is much appreciated if you can title your emails with the game, turn, country and version... like... dc401 s01 Eng v1

Enjoy,

Thanks to Mike and Kevin for their information.  To the best
of my knowledge I’ve never met, nor have I played, anybody else in this
game.  Looking forward to it very much.

Just for the record, I’m in St Ives Cornwall, not St
Ives Hunts, in UK (the magical fishing and artist’s village).  But the
imp0ortant point is that I’m 4-8 hours ahead of you all in time zones,
which probably means some communications will get delayed somewhere, but there
should  be plenty of time for that.

Enjoy!

Following Kevin's full disclosure: I've played with almost everyone here, except Pete and Chris I think. We've been allies and enemies. I look forward to seeing what side of the fence we fall on this game!

BTW, Kevin & Steve, the next time I'm in Chicago, I'll let you know. Probably next spring. My wife is out there nearly every other weekend for school.

Good Luck all!

Greetings all,

Just to let everyone know, because we are playing this game by email, Steve and I, while living in the same city have only met in person once and have never played in the same game online.  I think I GM'ed one of his games though.

Before PBEM games, I try to send out the disclaimers so that there is no appearance of inpropriety, even if there really is some inpropriety. Wink  just kidding.

Looking forward to a fun game.  Let the Seismic orders begin.

Enjoy,

-mike

Thanks to Mike and Kevin for their information.  To the best
of my knowledge I’ve never met, nor have I played, anybody else in this
game.  Looking forward to it very much.

Just for the record, I’m in St Ives Cornwall, not St
Ives Hunts, in UK (the magical fishing and artist’s village).  But the
imp0ortant point is that I’m 4-8 hours ahead of you all in time zones,
which probably means some communications will get delayed somewhere, but there
should  be plenty of time for that.

Enjoy!

Please note I got an Out of Office reply from Dan in Australia... I didn't know he'd be out, but it said "till Monday".  If that's the case, and I don't hear back sooner then I'll probly push the deadline to Friday instead so all can have ample time for the first turn.
