dc157 Fall 1902 results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
World Wide Press (A news company)

"Prince Henry of Prussia visits Niagara Falls."
"Mystery pyramid found in United States." (http://www.unexplainedresearch.com/media/monumental_mystery.html)
"Edward VII's coronation delayed by emergency appendix operation."
"Treaty of Vereeniging signed. English forces routed back to Europe."
"November 8th - Kaiser in London to improve Anglo-German relations."
"Mascagni feels safe with Italy's protection. Italian Ambassador receives instructions."
"November 12th - View of Kaiser's visit; Austrians express satisfaction at what they consider England's snub."
"France profits by England. It Is estimated that 1,800,000,000f. is annually paid by the latter country to the former."
"Czarewitch a consumptive? It is reported that the heir to the russian throne Is dying of the disease."
"Petition by Russian Doukhobors; They beg the Sultan of Turkey to grant land to them. Say they can obey no laws. Declare they can be subject to no ruler but God -- Their expectations in Canada not fulfilled."

I didn't receive moves from France this turn, but as it turns out no real harm was done. Eric, if I replied to your moves for the Fall, let me know that I somehow missed it.

England has one retreat, with only one possible move to Finland. I took the liberty of making that move, but alas England will also have to remove one unit during the winter. Germany and Russia both need to submit one build for this Winter 1902. Lets have Winter builds due by 6pm EST Tuesday 25 MARCH 2008. I will send out the update if I get all three orders sooner. Spring 1903 will be due Tuesday (yes I mean it) 01 APRIL 2008 again by 6pm EST.

dc157 Back on Track - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
We are back up to full strength, so lets get rolling again.

Turkey will build a fleet in Smyrna for his winter 1901 build.

Spring 1902 moves will be due by 8pm EST Friday 14 MARCH 2008.

That should give everyone enough time to get acquainted with Jerren / Turkey.

Again, let me remind you to send moves early and change them as needed.

New player list for dc157 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear players of dc157

Travis McCrea is out as Turkey. My apologies to him and to those who may have been finding an ally in him. My reasons are many but mainly have to due with unreliability and unfamiliarity with the game of Diplomacy. I have encouraged him to study the rules and then some time in the future maybe try this again.

Now let us welcome Jerron Osmar. (aka Viceroyd(at)hotmail.com (Viceroyd(at)hotmail.com)). Jerren has agreed to step in to the leadership of Turkey. He will be sending me his build for the winter of 1901 and at that point I will set the date for Spring 1902 moves to be due. (about 1 week as usual).

Here is the updated player list:

The first year is done.

Unfortunately we didn't get builds from Turkey and one other was running late. Turkey if you sent your builds and have a reply from me, let me know ASAP.

Spring 1902 moves will be due by 8pm ( I'm working a little later) on Friday 07 MARCH 2008. Send your moves as soon as you can. You can always change them later.

Here are the results.

dc157 Fall 1901 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Greetings to All.

Builds due Friday 29 FEB 2008 by 6pm. EST.!!!!

As the warm days of summer turn to the cool crisp days of autumn we find that all of the great powers of Europe have geared up their industry and are preparing for war. The fields of Belgium host a few skirmishes as French and German forces collide. The Sevastopol fortress proves to tough for the Turkish forces to crack....so far. All in all, however, all sides made some gains with Austria gaining the most with a surprising three!

Austria: build 3
F Albania - Greece
A Galicia - Rumania
A Serbia Supports F Albania - Greece

England: build 1
F North Sea Convoys A Yorkshire - Norway
F Norwegian Sea Supports A Yorkshire - Norway
A Yorkshire - Norway

France: build 2
A Burgundy - Belgium (*Bounce*)
F Mid-Atlantic Ocean - Portugal
A Spain Hold

Germany: build 2
F Denmark Hold
A Kiel - Holland
A Ruhr - Belgium (*Bounce*)

Italy: build 1
A Apulia - Tunis
F Ionian Sea Convoys A Apulia - Tunis
A Venice Hold

Russia: build 1
F Gulf of Bothnia - Sweden
F Sevastopol Supports A Galicia - Rumania (*Cut*)
A St Petersburg Hold
A Ukraine Hold

Turkey: build 1
F Ankara - Black Sea
A Armenia - Sevastopol (*Fails*)
A Bulgaria Hold

For those of you new to this form of Diplomacy, send your builds basically as you would on paper. Army or Fleet and where it is built for each build. Make sure to note which coast if needed (I don't think this will apply this turn).

dc157 Results for Spring 1903 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Well folks it has happened again. I have heard nothing from Eric Gaul our French commander. Being so, I resolved the Spring moves with the French NMRs. I also do now have a replacement player for France. I hope he will be as faithful as our friend playing Turkey now.

As for the results we do have three retreats. With multiple choices for the German and maybe a minor choice for the Turks and with the extra time needed to get "everytime" on board, let us go ahead and set Retreats due on Tuesday 08 APRIL 2008 by 8pm EST. The following week on Tuesday 15 APRIL 2008 (also by 8pm) we will have our Fall 1903 moves due.

At this time let me formally introduce Willie (William) Wonder. He assures me this is his real name and that his parents had a funny sense of humor. "everytime" is his DC screenname and he is new to DC, but he says' "I've been playing Diplomacy since some of them were in diapers." He is included in this email, so you each should have his mail now. He did also mention he is a little sporadic with checking his email, so bare with him if he doesn't reply very quickly.

The Fall of 1903 brings sudden changes!

Turkey takes a beating at the hands of three
powers. The Sultan retreats to ponder his remaining
days.
Russia orders support to Germany (see note
below), but somehow misses the mark.
Italy lands forces on Asia minor, as French
forces encroach from the west.
Germany beats a hasty retreat from France, but
wins back Denmark.
The French military reawakens and chases Germany
from his lands, and rattles his sabers toward his
Italian neighbors.
England disbands a German fleet, but loses
Denmark.
Austria single-handedly cuts the Turks by 1/2.

The Russian order, "F Skagerrak - Supports
German A to Denmark
" was unclear. Which A (army) were you looking
to support? After looking at what results might
change I decided to go ahead and just put Holland to
do the adjudication. If you meant the Fleet that
was moving then no worries since it succeeded
anyway.

There are no retreats this Fall and so builds
will be due on Friday 18 APRIL 2008 by 6pm EST.
Always remember to send prelims as soon as you can.
That way if the deadline comes up you will not hold
anyone else up if you happen to get tied up.

dc157 Fall 1903 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
The Fall of 1903 brings sudden changes!

Turkey takes a beating at the hands of three powers. The Sultan retreats to ponder his remaining days.
Russia orders support to Germany (see note below), but somehow misses the mark.
Italy lands forces on Asia minor, as French forces encroach from the west.
Germany beats a hasty retreat from France, but wins back Denmark.
The French military reawakens and chases Germany from his lands, and rattles his sabers toward his Italian neighbors.
England disbands a German fleet, but loses Denmark.
Austria single-handedly cuts the Turks by 1/2.

The Russian order, "F Skagerrak - Supports German A to Denmark
" was unclear. Which A (army) were you looking to support? After looking at what results might change I decided to go ahead and just put Holland to do the adjudication. If you meant the Fleet that was moving then no worries since it succeeded anyway.

There are no retreats this Fall and so builds will be due on Friday 18 APRIL 2008 by 6pm EST. Always remember to send prelims as soon as you can. That way if the deadline comes up you will not hold anyone else up if you happen to get tied up.

Ok, now that is out of the way. Good luck to all.

A few notes.

1. Most important --- PLEASE have dc157 in the subject line of all emails at least to me, but it may help others as well.

2. dc157(at)diplomaticcorp.com (dc157(at)diplomaticcorp.com) is our forum email. Anything sent to that email will post in our forum with only a slight delay.

3. Get in the habit of sending moves in early. I will accept any number of resubmissions, taking the last one sent before the end of the deadline (or before I get to the adjudications).

4. I love banter between players. If you are ok with CCing me on your diploming, I would love it. It is in no way mandatory, it's just for my enjoyment.

5. Also, please feel free to email me with "headlines" from around the world. I find it livens things up a bit and it can be fun to poke the others without them knowing for sure who's doing it. (See my house rules for details).

6. HAVE FUN !!!!!
