DC190 - Fall 2014 - worldwidegm at gmail.com   (Jun 09, 2009, 2:44 pm)
Well, well, well... so the regular computer is just as mysteriously back online, so I waited long enough to get back onto the real map.  A few developments this turn: Russia orders units to move (though none of them actually get anywhere) and Africa gets just a little bit darker (green).  This season also brought the official close to the Chinese campaign as the Independent State of Ethiopia fell to the Persians.  Thanks to Mike for sticking it out.

There are no retreats necessary, so we move straight on into the winter of 2014.  Since it's a winter season, we won't be voting on any proposals, but the fun will resume when we get into the spring.

Just to call foul on myself, but while trying to figure out why I don't get a build, I realized I had 19 SCs last round and 20 units.  Backtracked it to winter 2013 - GM asked for 2 builds and I supplied.  Oops on all of us cause we didn't catch it - don't think it made a difference either way.

No worries, but just to be straight up.

DC190 - Sorry guys - worldwidegm at gmail.com   (Jun 08, 2009, 9:01 pm)
Hey there guys... sorry to let this game fall by the wayside... I had a friend getting married this past weekend and things got a little interesting last week.  No worries, though... everything went off well and now I'm back on top of things.  I'll have the adjudication out sometime tomorrow.

Hey everyone... I got impatient.  The internet on my main computer still doesn't work... not sure why not.  But, as I have the old MS Paint version still in existence, I'm going to go ahead and get the game going forward again, in low definition.

Once again, the draw is defeated.  Once again, very little movement actually happens, but enough to put a little intrigue into the game.  One retreat is needed from South America and we'll be ready to move on to the fall.

Apparently until China is gone there will be no draw voted in, or so I'm told by one player...Not me, as I'm happy as a clam having destroyed the last of Ethiopia's military forcesSmile

I'm voting for the draw AND demanding that Persia liberate Ethiopia, just to be clear.

Any chance the guys not getting orders in till the last second are forgetting to vote?

Hey guys... so the computer I use for this game has mysteriously gone offline and we haven't been able to figure out what's wrong.  It has something to do with the renovations going on at my house, I'm sure, but until then I don't have access to the map-making tools.  As it stands, I'm still missing a couple sets of orders for the Spring of 2014... so for those of you who have missed out so far, here's your chance to get those in.

I think I have 13 units and now get 1 build, correct?

Please build me an Army in RIO, for the sake of transparency.  Destination Angola, to establish a happy kumbaya singing stalemate line in South Africa.

Can I perpetually vote for the perpetual draw proposal?

Thanks,
Andrew

You DO realize SC counts do not affect anything whatsoever, right? (for someone in a drwa) If you score a draw, all metrics in dc will rate your result exactly equal to everyone who shared in the same draw. Who had more SC's doesnt matter.

Did persia vote last time?

I vote no if it would resolve before winter when sc counts get updated.

Well, if Persia will wander into perpetually undefended ADD and liberate the defenseless inhabitants, we'll have one less possibilitySmile

Not going to say I'm sorry for the Mike but its kind of an unusual situation so I had to go for it...

Please disband F IND rather than retreat to SOM - hopefully that will demonstrate my intentions here.

Thanks,

Well, if Persia will wander into perpetually undefended ADD and liberate the defenseless inhabitants, we'll have one less possibilitySmile

Not going to say I'm sorry for the Mike but its kind of an unusual situation so I had to go for it...

Please disband F IND rather than retreat to SOM - hopefully that will demonstrate my intentions here.

Thanks,
Andrew

OK, well, you all got to see the retreat OTB order from South America.  Upcoming is the Winter of 2013 and Winter is not eligible for an EOG proposal, so we'll go ahead with that and leave the perpetual draw proposal on the table for spring.

[u:4011b0aa7f]Ownership[/u:4011b0aa7f]
Mexico: Alaska, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Ontario, Quebec, Illinois, Boston, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Cuba, Paris, Morocco, Dakar, Ouagadougou, Sydney, Manila (19 sc's - 17 units = 2 builds)
South America: Columbia, Peru, Honolulu, Bolivia, Argentina, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Angola, Pretoria, Maputo, Perth, Melbourne, Auckland (14 sc's - 12 units = 2 builds)
Russia: London, Berlin, Vienna, Oslo, Sweden, Minsk, Murmansk, Moscow, Nizhniy-Novgorod, Kazakhstan, Beijing, Vladivostok, Korea, Honshu, Taiwan (15 sc's - 14 units = 1 build)
West Africa: Algeria, Lagos (2 sc's - 3 units = 1 disband)
Persia: Rome, Zagreb, Romania, Ankara, Libya, Egypt, Congo, Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, Riyadh, Baghdad, Tehran, Pakistan, Mumbai, Delhi, Shanghai, Hong Kong (17 sc's - 17 units = even)
China: Addis Ababa (1 sc - 0 units = 1 build)
Oceania: Siam, Jakarta (2 sc's - 2 units = even)

Obviously, China, with no home centres, will be unable to build his unit.  For the rest of you, Winter 2013 adjustments will be due Monday, May 18, 2200GMT.
DC190 - Fall 2013 (dc190) DamienThryn May 15, 02:40 pm
I think I have 13 units and now get 1 build, correct?

Please build me an Army in RIO, for the sake of transparency.  Destination Angola, to establish a happy kumbaya singing stalemate line in South Africa.

Can I perpetually vote for the perpetual draw proposal?

Thanks,
Andrew

I believe Persia is the only one we've not heard a public Yes vote from.
This does not bode well for the future of Ethiopia as an independent peaceful nation. Smile

Well... it's become abundantly clear that the four-way draw is back on the table for the Fall turn. As per the house rules of DipCorps, a public proposal of a draw is fine, and we have received that from, it would seem, both South America and China (Ethiopia). However, I cannot force anyone to vote publicly. Any player may reserve the right to vote in private, whatever anyone may think about it. Also, a public vote is not binding, as the last vote before the deadline is the one that counts. So, when I get back to my computer on May 9, we will be able to resolve this proposal.

One other thing: I missed one more move with the map: the Persian fleet in Zagreb should be in the Tyrrhenian. I'll send that map out tomorrow (along with Scott's retreat).

I am in favor of the draw, but I hate public votes because of the peer pressure of it.  Therefore, I will vote whichever way Persia votes.
