GGS 1264 / DC110 - NMR Policy Change Scrapped - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi guys and gal,

All righty. The response to the NMR Policy implementation has been overwhelmingly negative, so its dead in the water. We will continue with my replacement policy as it currently stands in my house rules. (I've attached a copy for Jim's sake, and in case any of you have misplaced yours. =P )

Thank you for all of your opinions. It is actually a relief to me to see that NMR's are not preferred - my feelings on them mirror yours as well.

Cheers all,

Trout

Thank goodness all that's over - now we can get back watching Austria choke on himself.

Hey folks,

Just a gentle reminder that Fall 1865 orders are due in just under 23 hours. Amazingly enough, even with all this discussion, I am still short three sets of orders. =P

Cheers!

Whilst I welcome the idea that we wont be able to suffer an NMR in this game, i do find the constant change of replacement players to be a hassle.

Just saying..

Guns, Germs and Steel 1264 / DC110 - Fall 1865 - G... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
- AUSTRALIA OFFICIALLY CHANGES ITS OFFICIAL BEER TO HEINEKEN AS DUTCH NAVY DOMINATES
- CITIZENS SHRUG OFF MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE IN MEXICO CITY AND CELEBRATE MEXICAN ARMY RETURN
- UNITED STATES STEAM INTO QUEBEC - ENGLISH CANADIANS SAY 'YOU CAN HAVE 'EM, EH!'
- HABSBURGS TURN INTO DESERT RATS - ARRANGE FOR SPHINX TO BE TRANSPORTED TO VIENNA FOR DISPLAY

(Apologies to all you French-Canadians out there for the absolutely shocking third head-line...) =P

Well, the nastiness of Fall 1865 falls by the wayside. The currents twist and twirl, helping some emerging powers out and threatening to turn into a deadly little whirl-pool for others. Russia takes a step back from the Chinese proper, the British reclaim their perch in the North Atlantic and, alas, we say farewell to the Prussian empire. My thanks go to Shane for stepping into an extremely tough position. Also, many thanks to Suzanne for getting in that last set of orders in what proved to be a doomed effort. Split 3-ways by three different powers, Prussia becomes the games first elimination - but definitely not the last.

Several retreats are needed after this little tango of ours. If I could please hear from France, Japan, Mexico, United States and Britain I would appreciate it. Early Winter 1865 deadline will be set for Friday, November 2nd (11:59 PM GMT).

I'd like to set the Winter adjustment deadline for Sunday, November 4th and the Spring 1866 deadline for a week from tonight - for Wednesday, November 7th (11:59 PM GMT). If this is too quick for anyone, please let me know.

As always, please review the results and make sure I didn't make a bone-headed mistake. Cheers all!

Guns, Germs and Steel 1264 / DC110 - Early Winter... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
- MEXICAN FLEETS JOIN UP WITH THE PIRATES OF THE WESTERN CARRIBEAN
- UNITED STATES NAVY TAKES UP LOG-ROLLING IN NORTHERN ONTARIO
- JAPANESE FIND COUNTER BALANCE IN EQUATORIAL COUNTER-CURRENT

Hi guys,

As advertised above, Mexcio retreats to Western Carribean Sea, the United States to Ontario and the Japanese to Equatorial Counter-Current. Other retreats include the US disbanding their Tennesee army, the British disbanding their fleet in Queensland and France retreating to the Sargasso Sea.

Winter 1865 adjustments will be due Monday, November 5th (11:59 PM GMT). This is a quick deadline, I know. However, since I have prelim adjustment orders in from almost everyone already I'm hoping that's groovey.

Cheers all,

Trout

GGS 1264 / DC110 - One Missing Set of Adjustments - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi folks,

We have a missing set of adjustments, amazingly from a player who is never late. Not sure what's up - but the player in question has been notified and I'm positive I'll have the missing orders in ASAP. However, since tomorrow is my first day back at work I will be hitting the sack early tonight. Thus, winter adjudication will be out first thing tomorrow morning.

Sorry for the delay, all. Cheers!

Trout

Guns, Germs and steel 1264 / DC110 - Winter 1865 -... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
- ALL IS RIGHT WITH WORLD AFTER GM ORDER FILING ERROR - TROUT ADMITS HE'S A BIG GOOF
- JAPAN ONCE AGAIN THINKS EVERYTHING IS OKI-DOKEY (yeah - I know how bad that one is...)
- KIWI RUGBY PLAYERS DRINK FRENCH NAVY UNDER THE TABLE, OFF THEIR BOATS AND OFF THE ISLAND

------------------------------------------------------

Sorry about that slight mix-up with the orders folks. The missing orders had been handed in well previously, and all fault lies with me. Of course. And after that, which sounds too much like my arguments with ex-girlfriends, we move onto the Winter orders. =P

Fleets are built in Okinawa, New York, Washington DC, St. Petes (north coast), Cayenne and Oliveira. Boats are scuttled in New Zealand, Austen, the Persian Gulf and the Horn of Africa. On the army side, new grunts are brought online in Transvall, Ceylon, and Croatia. Meanwhile we say goodbye to our friends in Nova Scotia and the last Prussian regulars in Metz.

To try to keep the quick weekly pace, I'll set the Spring 1866 deadline for Friday, November 9th (11:59 PM GMT.) Please let me know if this doesn't work for you, or if you spot any mistakes or errors.

Cheers all,

Trout

Guns, Germs and Steel 1264 / DC110 - Missing Order... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi gents,

Once again I am facing the situation where I am about to start looking for a replacement player. Unfortunately one of our number has not shown to represent this turn and I am missing his Spring 1866 orders. I have notified that player that he has until noon my time (MST) to submit orders or I will seek a replacement.

I'm a little shocked and horrified that this is happening after all our talk last turn. However, that is all the editorializing I will do at this point. Hopefully the orders will come in and the conversation will be moot. =)

Sorry about the delay, everyone..

Guns, Germs and Steel 1264 / DC110 - A New Emperor... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi everyone,

Please give a hearty welcome to Bret who is stepping in to helm the forces of the rising sun. Bret has been good enough to take up the position and allow us to keep this baby running. His email is bret_pollack(at)hotmail.com (bret_pollack(at)hotmail.com)

We have an interesting situation before us now, timing-wise. I'd like to give Bret at least a couple days to negotiate - but we have a couple players that will be without access from Nov 20 to Nov 28.

So I'd like to reschedule the Spring 1866 deadline for the middle of that time period. I realize that gives an adjudication in the middle of two players absences, but hopefully this will be acceptable due to the 're-do' nature of this turn. If not, just let me know and we can revise the deadline. Otherwise, please have any revised orders in by Friday, Nov 23rd (11:59 PM GMT.)

Thanks again for the patience everyone!
