I have no idea whats going on this game!  Excitement all over... Russia finally gets into Rumania, but finds Warsaw surrounded by enemy forces... England floats uninhibited into Belgium, and Austria / Italy clash over Trieste - both making a solid play for the Austrian port, but in the end nothing moves.  Onward to fall!

Fall 02:  Monday 5/10, 3pm Central!
Enjoy,
-mike

SNC seeks SCR (dc320) - FuzzyLogic   (Apr 26, 2010, 4:13 pm)
SNC Seeks SCR

"Single Neutral Center Seeks Single Capable Ruler"... hits the want-ads everywhere as center after center go unclaimed due to differing opinions of appropriate rulership: Sweeden gets bounced by GR, Belgium by EF, and Rumania by TR leaving us 4 unclaimed neutrals going into year two!  Offended, the Tunisians seem to have nobody fighting over them, or even remotely interested - Even the "Welcome Italy Day Parade" got only a scant turnout as the Italians sail into Greece turning their backs on their typical first turn gains.

NEXT - we have lots of builds!  Something for everyone, as long as everyone doesn't mean Russia too.

A,E,I,T are +1
G,F are +2

Russia can take the turn off.

BUILDS:  By Wed 4/28, 3pm Central.  Builds - I may always send out early if I get a full set, just to not keep the game on hold for minor turns.

Enjoy!

Summerfest Game-Start! (dc320) - FuzzyLogic   (Apr 09, 2010, 10:03 am)
Hey again,

Wow with all that hype about a pre-game email in the works, I bet you were expecting something truly fanatastic... Well you don't get it! In fact, we have a full slate of eager confirmations in the first draft of the roster, so we can skip right along to getting this one started…

No pre-game "get ready for the actual game-start later" filler, no, this is it. The big moment. The epitome of our game-joining extravaganza… <drumroll>

The *beginning*... of the 320th game of Diplomaticcorp Diplomacy!
[cheer!] [fireworks!] [dancing girls!] [wardrobe malfunction!]

And *you*... get to live it. Experience it. Be a part of this history-making event, sure to be full of lying, cheating, stabbing, misdirecting, pissing each other off, then getting excited again the next week with a faint glimmer of hope, only to have that trashed yet again. Ah, the game we love.

This game shall henceforth be known as dc320: Summerfest. Things are getting warm here in Chicago, top has been down on the convertible, daffodils are growing up in the back yard, and summer-edition beers are going to be hitting the stores soon. On that note, I accept bribes! Beer is good, tho most forms of alcoholic beverages will win you some good favor, as does cash.

So let's see... what else... Oh - powers!

Those of you who don’t have a “Location” entered, pls take a moment to update that on your profile on the dc site. It’s always nice to know where everyone’s from, since these games tend to span the world.

First deadline: Monday April 19, 3pm Central / 2000 GMT. That’s a little over a week, tho in general I tend to run turns just a bit faster than that. For spring 01, I require everyone send preliminary orders – how about by next Tuesday 3pm Central? In later years, prelims are your choice, tho I do run the turns when I say I will, so if you’re late, you’ll end up w a big ole’ NMR and your units doodling about while everyone conquers your territories. Not good. Unless you like having your empire plunged into chaos – perhaps you’re the king of an immaculately perfect country in real life, and you want to experience what it’s like to run a dysfunctional empire where units don’t get ordered, and they sit around and get dislodged? If that’s your thing, by all means I’m happy to oblige. But barring that, *use prelims* as often as you see fit. They will save you from the inevitable unexpected.

Delays: I like to keep the games moving, and particularly w how last minute negotiations always seem to come down to the wire (despite having a week to diplome), know that I will almost never grant a delay for a turn currently in play. Get called on business? Fall in a well? Stub your toe on the bed? Whatever the reason, once a turn starts, (barring some major disaster), the deadline will run when I set it. Now if you have vacations coming up, or a biz trip planned and you let me know in advance of that turn, I’ll schedule around that, no prob! But once a turn starts, it’s as good as locked.

You can follow up on the game any time at www.diplomaticcorp.com?game=dc320.
If you ever don’t get an adjudication from me, be sure to check there, cuz I’ll post it there as well.

What else. Did I cover bribes?

Oh, press. Press is always fun. You can write whatever you want with your orders, I’m happy to post it with the adjudications. Pictures? Sound bytes? Livestock? Anything is fair game.

Intros: I know some of you from past games, but others not! Feel free to shout out.

Shameless plug? (What kind of game-start would be complete w/o a shameless plug?)
If any of you have ever dreamt of running a game, we need GM’s all the time. Just say the word!

If I think of anything else, I’ll let you know… but otherwise, let’s get stabbing!
Your friendly neighborhood GM,
-mike

PS. If any of you made it clear to the end of this email, then be sure to use the keyword “iwannanotherguy” with your spring orders to get your special limited edition bonus unit in Ireland!

dc320 pre-pre-game-start! - FuzzyLogic   (Apr 05, 2010, 3:25 pm)
Hey everyone, and welcome to this, the 320th game of Diplomaticcorp Diplomacy!

This is just a little pre- pre-game email to tell you that a pre-game mail is in the works, and make sure you've all signed up for a game of Diplomacy! If that is not your game, or you thought you were signing up for Parcheese, that's the next door down.

But if it is Diplomacy that you seek, let me know!

We have 7 signed up, so I need a reply from 7 players to get us rolling. I tend to run a pretty tight ship when it comes to Dip, and this game should be no exception. That is, results will come out fairly timely when the deadline comes about. In the first year, I don't allow NMRs. I will hold a game for anyone who hasn't got moves in, just in case there's any newbies who don't quite know the ropes, etc. Once year 1 is complete, then we move to the normal pace of a week per major turn! That's around 5-6 days for the spring or fall phase, and 1-2 days for any retreats or builds. We'll probly settle on a consistent day of the week, tho I haven't thought that far ahead yet.

If you have country preferences: Pls submit them in the AEFGIRT fashion, listing them from most to least preferred. If "any" is ok, let me know that too. Also if you have any allergies we need to know about, or if any of you suffer from UPS (uncontrollable predisposition to stabbing) - others might want to know that up front.

I think that's about it for now!
More when we have 7 confirmed.
-mike
