DC 347, Lost a player - alwayshunted   (Feb 11, 2011, 11:04 am)
Hey gang,

I just received a notice from our German player that life has become a bit too involved, and he is bailing on the game. So I'm putting us into recruiting at DC and hopefully get a quick response. Sorry group, I know this kind of thing is disruptive.

Before we continue I
would like to propose a four way draw
England/Germany/Russia/Italy.

Regards

Mike

Hi gang,

To answer all your questions... no you didn't miss them.... I did.  For some reason I guess I thought it was spring and I had a week or so to put this one out of my mind. Plus I've been extremely busy with various things. Bottom line is, I have to apologize for my tardiness. Here is winter:

Germany builds armies in Kiel and Berlin, England a fleet in Edinburgh, and Italy a fleet in Rome. Maps are attached. Spring due in one week, Monday January 31 2011.

Hi folks. We are delayed again as it seems Andy may
have not meant to join our little war party. Don't ask, I'm a bit perplexed
myself.....

Regardless, I have no orders from him at this time
and am waiting to see if he gets back to me. If he shows an interest we
can carry on, otherwise we are looking for another England.

Hi folks. Sorry I didn't get to this yesterday, and now I'm going to have to delay again as we have had our English player abandon us. It is too important a position right now to put him in CD, so I will seek a replacement and we'll try to run the fall turn again once we find one. It doesn't usually take very long, so hang in there.....

Storm over
Constantinople

This spring Constantinople has been attacked by Russian
fleets located in the Black Sea. Our army has been able
to stop the miserable attack on our holy city.

The Ottoman Empire cries war and revenge against the evil
of the Czar of Russia.

Will be welcome
any support from other empires of Europe who do not want to succumb to the
tyranny of Russia.

Mother Russia has heard the pitiful cries of the liberty loving denizens of the Holy City of Constantinople, begging to throw off the yoke of Turkish oppression.  All of Europe should join us in putting down the evil Timijin like the rabid dog he is.

I promise this is not the norm for me.

There are two retreats due tomorrow evening, one from Italy and one from England (see below). Both of them have only one option, HOWEVER, I will not automatically retreat them. Gentlemen,

My sincere apologies. I am sitting in an airport right now on my way home. It's been a struggle to keep up with things, and with the unexpected delay of the last turn I had to put the game on hold for a while. If you can hang on for one more day I will get the turn out as when I get home.

Mike, the only previous hold-ups were a day or two at most. I highly doubt anyone dropped out because of that. This delay is a different story I realize, and I do apologize.

No pressure. Diplomacy can't always come first even when/if it should.

Warren

He disappeared for a
while earlier in the game and the constant hold-ups were I suspect the reason
that the original Russia and France both dropped out.

I
sent off an e-mail to the DC moderators to let them know we lost our GM. We'll
hear from one of them soon.

Hey
guys,

I just was set to adjudicate, but I just found a
note from one of our players saying he would be away until
tomorrow or Friday. As I didn't open his mail until now I'm going to
wait until I get his
orders.

My

So, Italy has found
an ally, maybe, but definitely some support for the spring turn. He now finds
his lonely fleet in the Ionian Sea.  Germany might be feeling a bit
squeezed.

MDT.
