DC127 - Spring 10 adjudicated - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players,

Another DIAS proposal. Please include your vote with your Fall '10 orders. Unless I get any objections, those are due to me next Tues. at 3pm GMT - let me know if you want more time.

Remember any 'No' vote scuppers the proposal and any abstention is counted as a 'Yes'!

There were no retreats as Spring '10 played out as follows:

DC127 - Winter 09 Map - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players

FINALLY - Winter 09 Map attached.
Given the delay, I am keen to proceed as swiftly as possible. I shall adjudicate Spring '10 as soon as I have complete orders from all of you. If you have sent me prelims, I shall mail you individually to confirm that you want me to use them, or if you will be supplying updated orders.

DC127 - a question of disbands - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players,

I have chosen the redscape house rules as my model for dealing with NBRs. I received a question regarding disbands.

I put the following to some more experienced GMs than I:

"Regarding disbands in the event of NBR or Civil Disorder, The redscape house rules state that units should be disbanded in the following order:

A. Unit furthest from the Power's home country, non-supply center
B. Unit in the Power's home country, non-supply center
C. Unit in a supply center furthest from the Power's home country
D. Unit in the Power's home supply center

My case is I have 3 French units in civil disorder and 1 supply centre left unoccupied. I have 1 unit in category A and 2 in category B - both Armies
Is there a protocol for which of the armies should be disbanded? or do I just flip a coin?"

and I was almost immediately equipped with the following:

"When a tie exists, you are supposed to then go alphabetical
one disbands, the first alphabetical gets removed first
the same for builds when using default builds, A gets built before B"

Therefore - now that France is in Civil Disorder, you can safely assume that the 2 disbands will be F Lyo and A Bur.

Hope that this clears things up

Kind regards

DC127 - Fall & Autumn 1909 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players,

The proposal for the DIAS has failed. And it seems like everyone now loves the Turkish Wink

The orders for Fall 09 were as follows:

FALL 09

AUSTRIA
A Ber Hold
A Mun S A Ber
A Sev - Arm
A Mos - Lvn
F Bul (sc) S A Ser - Gre
A Ank S A Con
A Ser - Gre
F Alb - Ion

F Gulf of Lyon - Marseille
F Adriatic Sea - Ionian Sea
A Venice Hold
A Tuscany Supports A Venice
F Greece - Bulgaria(sc)
F Aegean Sea Supports F Greece - Bulgaria(sc)
A Smyrna Supports A Constantinople

Please check your maps carefully. I can't make the units on Realpolitik hold and there don't appear to be any updates online, so I'll be utlising our friendly GM Stephen if I run into any further difficulty.

There are no retreats so attached are Fall movement maps and Autumn maps . Our Austrian Archduke has requested that the next deadline not be before next Monday as he is away this week. As his adjustments are set in stone I shall produce builds on his behalf and set a deadline of the usual time for Spring '10 - 3pm GMT next Tuesday.

Adjustments are as follows:

Austria - Supp 12 Unit 10 Build 2
England Supp 9 Unit 8 Build 1
Italy Supp 10 Unit 10 Build 0

Our anarchist mobs in France, Russia and Turkey all live to riot another day.

Sorry guys,

I'm GMing several games concurrently and did not mean to give you such a quick deadline for Fall 09!

Your orders - and votes on the DIAS are due to me no later than next Tuesday at 3pm GMT.

Please be sure to send orders - if the proposed DIAS fails you will NMR without them!

DC127 - Winter 08 adjudicated - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players,

Hmmm. A Bleak Winter for some. Elimination for the once great German nation and the survival of Imperial Russia and the French Republic and the ragged legacy of the Ottomans hang in the balance. While both mighty Austria-Hungary and Italy managed to raise new armies, good old Britannia has spurned the chance to add to its already substantial fleet Wink with an NBR. Builds are waived til a more convenient time. Seriously tho - hope all is okay Alf; if you could get in touch just to let me know you're still playing, I'd be grateful.

WINTER 08

AUSTRIA Supp 11 Unit 10 Build 1 = Build A Vie
ENGLAND Supp 10 Unit 8 Build 2 = NBR

ITALY Supp 10 Unit 9 Build 1 - PRELIM = Army in ROM

Spring 1909 is due to me no later than 3pm GMT next Tuesday.

Argggghhhhh, sorry about that guys I feel a bit foolish - I was too busy trying to fix the problem which caused my previous NMR and forgot to send in moves for this turn (not that it will make much difference).

Well, I wish you all good luck, and I will be watching intently to see who comes out on top from hereon.

Thanks to Cory for sticking it out to the end. And so we say goodbye to Germany. No disrespect at all to our ex-Kaiser, but I think it is most indicative of Turkey's superior defensive position that even a power in civil disorder has outlived an active central one. Good game Cory, better luck next time.

I'm still having a couple of issues with Realpolitik on my mac. It is making it impossible for me to enter Hold orders for only some territories. Please check your maps carefully for errors. No probs Cory,

It's possible I have mentioned 'prelims' before. Preliminary orders can prove invaluable at preventing such mishaps. Sometimes they may involve orders that you might have changed given time - but some orders are better than no orders right?

..well - most of the time Smile and you can always send as many updates as you like. It also means I don't feel the need to send out a million reminders. Curse my nervous hide.

DC127 Winter 02 Adjudicated - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players,

Russia has failed to submit a build and therefore forfeits the opportunity to do so this Winter. Please note that assuming our Tsar maintains the same Supply Centre/Unit tally - he will still be owed a build next Winter. (Dave - A quick note - just to let me know you have received this, understand and are ready to play on - would not be amiss - think of it as a face to face game: You leave to get a beer from the fridge and don't come back... I worry about you guys dammit!)

One of our players mentioned he had not received word of the disband. I sent this by email and posted it on the DiploCorp forum on the 28th. The schedule for the game is fairly straight forward and I have sent numerous reminders - If you think you are missing anything due to technical issues please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Winter 1902

England - Disband F IRI
Germany - Build A Kiel
Italy - Build F Nap
Russia - NBR

A season a week sounds like a slow pace, but when you only have until next Tuesday to sort out your Spring '03 orders, it'll soon fly by!.. and it looks like some of you have plenty of talking to do. So keep your upper lips stiff - and carry on dipping!

DC127 - Autumn 1901 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players,

Austrian A Gal retreats to Sil.

The Winter Adjustments (due to me no later than 3pm tomorrow) are as follows:

AUSTRIA - Units:3 SCs:5 = Build 2
ENGLAND - Units:3 SCs:5 = Build 2
FRANCE - Units:3 SCs:5 = Build 2
GERMANY - Units:3 SCs:5 = Build 2
ITALY - Units:3 SCs:4 = Build 1
RUSSIA - Units:4 SCs:5 = Build 1
TURKEY - Units:3 SCs:4 = Build 1

And it's builds all round Smile

To repeat from yesterdays message:

In the case of the first year an NBR (No Builds Received) will result in automatic adjustments being implemented! ie. unless I receive a mail saying you specifically wish to waive any builds you are due - you WILL be assigned default builds.

In subsequent turns NBRs will be treated as such and any builds owing will be waived.

(as far as disbands are concerned, if I receive no instruction then default disbands will be used)

Thanks again.
Doug

Mike, I was not able to locate the check box to subscribe to the dc127 message board. Will that become available once the game officially starts?

Hi folks you’re officially in excellent hands now. Smile Doug’s an awesome GM, renowned on other sites… we are honored to have him run his first game in dc! It’s really a treat. You can be sure I’ll be watching the developments in the wings, so good luck to all!

Dear Players,

My name is Doug and I am happy to announce that I'm to be your GM for the game, efficiently and enticingly titled: DC127.

I have only signed up to the Diplomatic Corp today, but I have been active on the redscape diplomacy site since early this year as a both player and GM. I shall be sticking with the house rules that Mike previously sent you (link: http://www.sims-family.net/dip/houserules.htm) and propose that the game shall conform to the following format:

Spring / Fall Orders due: Tuesdays 3pm GMT
Retreats due: Wednesdays 3pm GMT
Winter Adjustments: (every other) Thursday 3pm GMT

I shall endeavour to post 24 hour warnings for each deadline, but this should not be relied apon, and will usually post maps & results within two hours of the deadline (updated orders will be accepted at my discretion up to the time of actually adjudicating the turn).

Mike has forwarded me the list of players and as I understand it, we have the following seven confirmed and ready to play:

ID : pitirre
Ctry : _Unassigned 2
Name : jose fern
Email: gojoeygo-at-hotmail.com
Prefs: ET

(If there is any error on this list, perhaps Mike can inform me as soon as possible)

As I do not yet have preferences from all players (those I do have are listed above) I shall give you all until 3pm on this coming Monday, 30th October to get prefs to me, or to update those you have sent in already; at which point I shall assign you all your countries. I propose then that the deadline for Spring 1901 orders, shall be due to me just over a week later, on Tuesday 7th November at 3pm GMT, and we shall then take it from there.

Please don't hesitate to mail me with any questions you might have - I shall do my best to respond as soon as possible. I should mention that you can supply me with as many updates of your orders as you wish, prelims are very welcome - the sooner the better: You can always change them. I GM and play in a number of games from this email address, so when sending in your orders, if you can format your subject header as follows, I'd be really grateful as it makes it all much easier to administrate:

eg.
Subject: DC127 - Austria - Spring 01 Version 1

(Obviously use the name of your own power, the relevant Season, year and version number Smile)

I'm thoroughly looking forward to seeing what brand of fiendish and underhand behaviour, as well as examples of stiff-lipped loyalty and heart-melting generosity Wink you are all capable of in the coming weeks.

(Make your own) Good luck
Very Happyoug
