DCI w06 builds! - Nigs   (Dec 23, 2009, 1:32 pm)
I've looked at the map, and realised why my orders didn't work out as expected... we were using the wrong page in the atllas. MOS presumably is Montevideos, Sev Sen Salvador (maybe issues with Cyrillic alphabet?)

Off to plan a resurgence now the smoke of war has lifted

Actually Austria is in the lead by center-count as of this turn, Dan would win the DCI if it’s called a draw.

There is a draw proposed for the DCI: 3-way Austria France Norway. Vote yay / nay with fall orders. Requires 6 yes-votes to pass.
Note tho this is a draw for the stats, the DCI would go to the highest center-count, or Norway if it passes.

RETREATS:

England: disband F London
Italy: A Venice - Rome

BUILDS:
Austria: Build F Trieste, A Budapest
France: Build F Marseilles, A Paris
Germany: Remove A Silesia
Italy: Remove A Ukraine
Russia: Build F Sevastopol
Norway: Remove F London, F Norwegian Sea

That’s it for this short and sweet holiday turn. Want a bit slower for the next one?

Spring 07 is due Monday Jan 4, 3pm Central.
Enjoy,
-mike

Norway, Austria? Jorge, Dan? In the end does it really matter either way? The point in this Christmas season is that we all find common ground. Why than focus on what divides us? I say vote YES no matter who "benefits". And really, aren't we all winners here?

That was funny enough to get 99% of my vote.  It's a shame that stodgy old DC requires unanimity on these issues.

Actually
Austria is in the lead by center-count as of this turn,
Dan would win the DCI if it’s called a draw.

There is a
draw proposed for the DCI:  3-way Austria France
Norway.  Vote yay / nay with fall orders.
Requires 6 yes-votes to
pass.

Note tho this
is a draw for the stats, the DCI would go to the
highest center-count, or Norway if it passes.

RETREATS:

England:
disband F London

Italy: A
Venice - Rome

BUILDS:

Austria:
Build F Trieste, A Budapest

France: Build
F Marseilles, A Paris

Germany:
Remove A Silesia

Italy: Remove
A Ukraine

Russia: Build
F Sevastopol

Norway:
Remove F London, F Norwegian Sea

That’s it
for this short and sweet holiday turn.  Want a
bit slower for the next one?

Spring 07 is
due Monday Jan 4, 3pm Central.

Enjoy,

-mike

This just in!

In a surprising move, the French leader has given notice to the dislodged armies of Belgium to cease and desist! Effectively immediately, the Belgian retreat to Picardy is cancelled, and the forces return to their homes to shack up w the visiting Norwegian women. English are outraged.

English A London did not Hold. Rather, A Lon "sits in schoolhouses and practices rudimentary Norwegian on the hopes that the Norwegian settlers bring with them hot Norwegian ladies looking for a downtrodden English gentleman". My bad...

In light of the order, if the Norwegians wish to build a "Norwegian lady looking for downtrodden English gentlemen" with their build, I'll allow it.

Ok folks, it's officially a hell of a game when 3 independent nations support the lone Balkan to take out Rumania and double in size. Talk about coming back in style... And check out those new duds on our Serbian leader, walkin around like he owns the place. You dont even need to ask when he enters the room - "Who's cool?"... Heee's cool...

Meanwhile Consumer Reports recommends against shipping holiday packages across the North Sea due to frequent and unpredictable interruptions.

2 retreats and a slew of builds are due. If I get them tomorrow (Friday) I'll send out the turn then. However in light of not making any deadline shorter than 2 days, official deadline is Monday 4pm Central.

DCI s03 retreats! - FuzzyLogic   (Oct 14, 2009, 8:40 am)
There was one vacation request for this turn, but I cant seem to find record of it anywhere. Perhaps this is a sign of the powers above conspiring against our would-be vacationer, or perhaps gnomes have invaded my computer and stollen those bits from my hard drive. By no means should we assume I've simply lost the request. In any case, if a player seems absent, that's probly why. Next deadline is therefore Thu 10/22, 4pm Central - a couple extra days this turn.

F NTH retreats to Edi

PRESS:
European Underground News: Word has it that the English navy has once again suffered a defeat in the North Sea at the hands of the Norwegians. Early reports say that the Norwegians got a little too drunk one afternoon and attacked the English during tea time in a blatant disregard for the Milan Convention Rules of Engagement of 1891 [section 4bii - "Tea time shall always be honored in any battle and most especially when it occurs in the northern climes. Those not wishing to partake in tea can partake in other refreshments since they are clearly barbarian and will die soon after tea time anyway."]

When asked why the English and Norwegians are fighting at sea, one anonymous source had this to say: "I heard that it all started because the English PM and Norwegian PM were drinking one night and got into a fight over the best use for potatoes. Rumor has it that the English PM swore that potatoes were best utilized to make chips. After all, everyone loves free pie and chips. Apparently PM Saralegui disagreed vehemently that vodka was the only acceptable use for potatoes and hit him over the head with a bottle of Svedka."

Elsewhere in Europe, disdain for the English plight is at an all-time high. Apparently PM Bledsoe's approval rating with European neighbors is in the loo. Germany still chooses NOT to secure his border or move against Norway while France seems more concerned with watching the running of the bulls than with securing his northern neighbor's safety. And Russia must have agreed that vodka is the best use for potatoes because the Russians aren't taking advantage of the northern war to seize more vodka distilleries from their neighbor and are actually moving south, presumably to find new potato fields.

When asked for a comment, PM Bledsoe simply had this to say: "Narf!"

This game is nuts...

Balkans lent Austria a hand, but forces in Tri and Gre didnt get the memo... which barely saves Spain from dropping to last place. Russians trade Bud for War, and a plague in Saint Petersburg sees everyone scatter from the region. Lowlands give off a sigh of relief that they wont be forced to live in France, Norwegians turn their focus north, France liberates their Med port, and Italians continue their search for Dracula.

11th place - Frank Martin, Lowlands.

There are two retreats:

French A Gas can go to Par or Bur

Austrian A Bud can only go to Vie

Then there's a matter of new units:

France: Build 1

Germany: Build 1

Norway: Build 1

Balkans: Remove 1

Spain: Remove 1

Lowands: Remove F Pic

Retreats and Builds are due together! Tuesday 10/6, 4pm Central, tho as usual I'll send out whenever I get a full complement.
