I wanted to introduce myself before the start of the game. I'm Nick Cherrier, living in Canberra, Australia. I'm 24 and this is my 3rd diplomacy game, and the first time playing Russia. We've finally got seven confirmed players, so we're ready to rock and roll! We haven't got a game number yet, but that will be forthcoming in the next couple of days. The game number's important as I need you to use it in the headers of any emails you send me, per my house rules, otherwise the mail won't get caught by my email filter.

I couldn't give everyone their first choice, but I think everyone's got one of their top 2.

As it's the first turn, and therefore the turn with typically the most discussion between the players, the deadline for Spring 1901 moves will be 2000 GMT on 12th May.

A couple of notes:

1. Be sure to check out my house rules, which are linked from the page of the game

2. The facility to send anonymous messages exists - just forward me the message you want sent, and who you want it sent to, and I'll pass it on.

3. I'd encourage folk to send preliminary orders in - you never know when technology will let you down or you'll be caught without email access!
