Looking for one more player - Slangers   (Oct 13, 2021, 12:00 pm)
I run a monthly Diplomacy zine called Last Orders! (latest issue at https://sway.office.com/H9pl3EFscKqpkOt7?ref=Link). Games run with deadlines of 3-4 weeks, so are a leisurely way to play the great game. Currently looking for one more player to get a game started on 24th October. Message me if you'd like to play or if you want more information.

Simon

Welcome aboard! You're definitely starting in the right place. You may have seen our Open Games tab. You can join whatever game suits you, and we have a few human GMs who organize and run them. When a game reaches its full contingent of players, that GM will send out an email to all, and the game begins. Each GM runs things a little bit differently, but it's a fun experience for all involved!

I joined, but I have no clue it works. I've played Diplomacy by email in the past, but I'm not sure how it works here. Obviously , I'm looking in the right places.

Hey there,
Just join a game! It's pretty easy to pick up, and is just a game. As long as you join with the intent to play out to the end and have fun, then that's really all that matters. New players and experienced players add very interesting aspects to a game and mixing them is a blast too.

EDIT... Your GM will be your go-to resource and make sure you don't miss key aspects of how to play, especially while you're learning.

Getting Started - DealingFungus66   (Feb 04, 2021, 12:59 pm)
Hello everyone, I registered and have been looking around the site to get the feel of everything. I have only played in person and that has been several years ago. I am currently brushing up on the rules, but could someone help me with how the process works for these email games? Such as how long between seasons, do I need to make a new email address just for the game, and just how it works in general. Thank you for your time.

I'm being told by several people that they can't seem to register for the site. Who can fix this?

I've been writing a Dip blog for a few weeks now and thought I'd drop an advert here. Take a look at The Embassy. It's all my point of view about Dippy stuff, though, so be warned...

I've also just launched a new Dip zine: PERFIDIOUS. I'm looking for contributors, but give issue 1 a look. You can subscribe here: theembassy.dip(at)gmail.com

Offering a new way to play Diplomacy - Slangers   (Jan 09, 2020, 10:11 am)
Dear Diplomaticcorp community- I am launching a new eZine which offers the opportunity to play standard Diplomacy and Intimate Diplomacy at a slightly more leisurely pace. The intention is to run games to a 3-4 week turnaround and to go to a model where orders are made for the major turns and players have to order conditional orders for retreats and adjustments.

If you're a Diplomacy veteran and used to play through the postal zines, it will be a bit like that, but without the snail-mail! Issue one of Last Orders! is available here https://sway.office.com/FDpAl3mAe9sxXcWM?ref=Link and you are all very welcome to subscribe and play!
Best wishes
Simon

Greetings Skeleton!

There is always a game open to join on this site- if you go to the Games tab and click on Open Games, the first on the list is always a game of standard Diplomacy as opposed to an exotic variant.

If you've never played before I'd suggest that you read the rules (see https://media.wizards.com/2015/downloads/ah/diplomacy_rules.pdf). A game is a long commitment- probably 3-4 months to complete. If you want to know more there are plenty of folk around who can advise you.

Haven is the BEST! - garry.bledsoe   (Feb 18, 2019, 8:02 pm)
All - we have been sitting at 7 players for the open re004 (aka HAVEN variant) for some time.

This is an amazing variant to play and well worth your time. I encourage you to join and try something completely different.

Of course I also have a soft spot for it because it is the brainchild of Sims, one of our Mods.

Join up now!
