dc130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ Spring 41 Deadline recinded - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
One of the two has responded. The other has till I get home from work tonight (about 7pm EST) and will just have to suffer an NMR if he misses it.

The deadline for Fall 1841 moves will then be: November 26, 2359 GMT.

Thank you all for your patience.

dc130 Imperial1840 New .map file - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Found a couple of errors in the RP .map file for I1840. A New zip file is up at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy
and the .map file by itself can be had at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/Imperial1840/imperial1840.map (case sensitive)

The old map file had Alberta and New Zealand listed as supply centers.

dc130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ Sp41 correction - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Spain's fleet Chili to Chilean Basin worked - but a typo in the RP file
prevented it. The map, DPY, and .map file have been corrected.

The edited map file is at:
http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/Imperial1840/imperial1840.map (it's not in
the .zip file yet!)

Dipcorps displays the corrected map and moves.

Thanks for pointing out the error.

dc130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ Map correction - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
It's been discovered that Liaoning province had two coasts. That has
been corrected. The .map file has been changed as have the
imperial1840.bmp file and all are available at
http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/Imperial1840
The Zip file has also been brought up to date as well at:
http://mainecav.org/diplomacy

Please look closely at the relationships between HIE, YON, LIA, KOR, &
SOJ - they are different. YON borders KOR now when it didn't before,
and LIA does not border SOJ. Holland, Russia, & China - this affects
you directly.

Thanks for your patience.

dc130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ Alternate Order Delivery - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
At diplomaticcorp.com in the forums, you can click on my name ( sgttodd #6 in the userlist ) Select "Private Message" or the "PM" icon on the userlist or in my profile and you can post your moves there privately. I think that's better than an alternate email.

I thought you might be able to email my user name (at)diplomaticcorp.com but my test of that hasn't gotten through or bounced back yet - so I don't know if that works.

I *will* send you a receipt when your orders are received by any means; email, forum PM, pigeon, Peguin, etc.

DC130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ Builds - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
As I stated initially, I wanted to allow player to build in their home centers AND captured home centers. I didn't do that because the RP software doesn't support that and the other two build rules it does support I don't feel work well for this variant.

Looking at how things are developing, I feel the 'build in captured home centers' rule is really needed for this variant to work in the long term. If it's to be implemented, it needs to be now.

Once again: this will mean you can build in any unoccupied [u:421ba55849]home[/u:421ba55849] center you own at the end of a fall season - the ones you started with and any you capture.

Any dissension?

DC130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ Builds - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
As it is the end of a Fall turn, and strategies have been formed without this rule in place, we'll postpone implementation until the end of Fall 1842. That allows players a full game year to plan and act with the rule as part of their planning. It's just too close to builds now to plop it in place.

Jerry

Hi Jerry,

I have no problems with this system of builds. The Imperial variant is set up this way, and its probably the best system of builds for this size of a game.

Cheers,

Trout

dc130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ Autumn 1841, file fixes, an... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
For some odd reason, RP thought Stuttgart bordered Berlin. A new .map file correcting this is available at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/Imperial1840/imperial1840.map

Note it is dated December 3rd. The zip file has also been updated with the new .map file. http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/rp-imperial1840.zip

This altered the retreat options for France. STU could not retreat to BER. I've heard not a peep from France so we will be getting a replacement player. When no retreats are received, the units should be disbanded, but rather than leave the new player in that much of a lurch I retreated STU-MET and SWS disbanded. Or maybe SWS retreated to MET and STU disbanded - either way the French lost one and one retreated to Metz.

That said....

The Autumn 1841 results are as such:

Britain:
Britain: Remove F Quebec

France:
A Stuttgart - Metz
Remove A Switzerland

Ottoman:
Ottoman: disband A Rumania
A Baku - Tabrize

Winter 1841 Adjustments:

Austria: Supp 10 Unit 8 Build 2
Britain: Supp 13 Unit 11 Build 2
China: Supp 8 Unit 7 Build 1
France: Supp 13 Unit 12 Build 1
Holland: Supp 11 Unit 11 Build 0
Ottoman: Supp 8 Unit 7 Build 1
Russia: Supp 14 Unit 11 Build 3
Spain: Supp 21 Unit 17 Build 4
USA: Supp 11 Unit 8 Build 3

Remeber - you may only build in your original home centers this winter - Beginning winter 1842, and all subsequent winters, you may build in any home center you own.

The tentative deadline for Winter 1841 is: December 7, 2359 gmt - (to give the replacement player some time to acclimate.)

Maps, DPY files, etc, as usual at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/dc130

Oops!

The deadline is the 22nd, not tonight. Sorry, my mistake.
Calm down, you're not late - I'm early.

So remember! Saturday night, when I get back from playing paintball, I
wanna see orders in my mailbox.

Smile

DC130 ~ Imperial1840 ~ S42 Deadline extension - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I'm still lacking one set of moves and with this being Christmas eve,
I'll give until 2359 GMT of the 26th to get them in, then we'll just
have to take the NMR.
