Hi guys,

first of all, let me say that swords won't be turned into ploughshares as the DIAS game-end proposal failed.

On to a brief summary of this season's events: As in recent times, the focal point of military action remains in the wider North. Thus, the English Navy has now reclaimed Novgorod for the Commonwealth, leaving the Poles to decide whether they will to retreat to Pskov or enter the Karelian wilderness.

Further West, the Poles have equally been compelled to retreat from Greater Poland. Though their retreat route back to Warsaw is blocked as Turkish Janissaries have entered the city on the Vistula.

Next to retaking Novgord, England has sought to pave a path further south through Turkestan, yet Polish winged-hussars blocked that route.

What about the Empire? Well, French troops now also control Holstein as the Spanish Army of Flanders has continued its long trek up into Jutland. Louis XIV now has reason to hope that the eight German electors shall convene later in the year to bestow the Imperial Crown upon the Most Christian King (provided the territorial status quo is maintained through the year's fall).

After this tour d'horizon, let me announce that another DIAS game-end proposal has been submitted to a vote. Its deadline shall coincide with the Summer Retreats deadline, meaning that I shall only adjucate prior to the Friday Retreats deadline should I have both the Polish retreat orders and a clear picture on how the game-end vote goes.

Now, almost time for that critical Bayern vs. ManU game! At least in our circle, sympathies appear to be with the Bavarians. A 3-0 vote so far based on what I've heard. So time to avenge 1999 and show that money ain't everything! Smile

Cheers,

Charles
