Diplomacy Treaty Variant
=========================
Players are encouraged to make written treaties with other players in the game.

A.1 How Treaties are established!
A treaty sent to The Game Master by email from each party to the treaty will be assigned to a Provence on the board and named with it's start season, end year, and SC abbreviation, and added to a press list of treaties. Eg. Sp02Ber
Observers will only know that Germany has a treaty with another power which ends in Wt02.
A.2 Treaties with the games neutral power are allowed, but can not require the Neutral unit to make any military order. You can not make the treaty with the clause - if a Neutral power's unit is adjacent to my unit it will provide support. However the reverse is allowed. GM controls Neutral power and can declare a treaty violation.
A.3 A Treaty must have at least one military clause to be valid.
Eg. German unit Ber will not enter Pru.
A.4 If an SC assigned to one or more treaties changes Ownership. The new owner may tell the GM to publish all treaties assigned to his new SC. The GM will do so even if new owner is a party to one of the Treaties. It is all treaties published or none, selective publication is not allowed.
B.1 Treaties end!
Treaties must end on a Winter Season and have a maximum life of 3 Game years, starting with the games next season.
B.2 Treaty ended by violation!
A player may ask for a treaty to be ended do to a violation by one or more of the other parties to the treaty. He can not ask for treaty to be ended because he has violated the treaty!
B.3 Treaties end with game!
At end of game all treaties are published.
C.1 Treaty enforcement!
A military move or order which violates a treaty will not be interfered with by the GM!
C.2 If a player notifies the GM at the end of a movement season and before the next movement phase that a treaty has been violated and the GM agrees that the treaty has been violated, the GM will take the following steps:
C.3 He will publish the treaty in the press section of the results, and declare the Treaty null and void.
C.4 He will in the next move season use Engineer Civil Disorder Moves to negate any attacks on adjacent units by the treaty offenders.
D.1 The game starts out gunboat style, to get the name and email of a player you must have a treaty with him. If you can prove to the GM's satisfaction that a party to a valid treaty has passed on your name and e-mail to another player, you can end the treaty before it's expire date.
D.2 Send as attachment proposed treaties to GM who will forward treaties to countries listed in the email. Do not hide parties to the treaty in attachment as on most occasions GM will not read attachment.
D.3 Yes Press is welcome and these are Black Press games.

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
