For what it's worth, at this point I will vote yes to anything. This
has been
probably the most frustrating game of diplomacy I have ever played, and
I want it
ended.

Certainly the game is rigged. Don???t let that stop you; if you don???t
bet, you can???t win.

Not going to happen. You can't hold Tunis, in fact you're two fleets
short of what's needed to cork the Mediterranean, and you can't
afford
to divert them from the north in time. Turkish/Italian fleets
outnumber you 2-1 in the Mediterranean. Venice is also beyond your
reach - even if Austria helped you capture it in the spring, Italy
can
ensure a recapture in the fall with the right builds.

Not to mention, you'll have to dedicate at least one if not two
fleets
in the north to deal with a rampaging German fleet that just slipped
through the net. So 18 is out of reach I think - you will likely get
to about 15-16 before you're taking losses in the south, but then it
should be a irreversible decline until we reach a balance of power
again.

Not that I will get away clean either - to keep Italy and Germany on
board, I will have to cede dots to them/pass the majority of spoils
to
them in order to keep the alliance together. So I won't be walking
away with a solo either.

As for Russia and Austria, neither is long for this world. You will
surely turn on Russia sooner rather than later for his remaining dot,
and Austria will be down to a single SC by the end of this year.
That
said, both have played tenacious defense under extremely difficult
circumstances - I would be perfectly happy and honored to share in
the
draw with them as well, which is why I proposed the DIAS along with
the FGIT. They've earned it.

Otherwise, they'll be eliminated soon, and FGIT will be the DIAS, as
I
intend to cede dots to both Germany and Italy as needed to keep them
in the game. Neither will be eliminated, even if it means Germany
survives in Smyrna (that would be interesting to do just to see it
happen Smile

All that said, you've played an outstanding game - far and away the
leader on the board, nobody's questioning that. But the solo is out
of reach unless Italy, Germany and I fall apart.

This message is in reply to post 22633:

Turkey proposes both a FGIT and a DIAS, and votes yes to both.
