Fall 853<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSurprisedfficeSurprisedffice" />

The Irish wish to undo all that the Welsh believe them to have started, in their entertaining diplomatic ways of attacking while saying they're being attacked. The Irish have not once attacked a Welsh unit or Welsh interest. The Irish are agreeing to all Welsh suggestions. You say you will not attack, so we shall watch as the Welsh continue.

Britons speak,

To Frisians,

Ah, it seems we are on par, at least with this seasons moves done. As you will see, my armies have initiated a supporting role.

To Saxons,

A slight mixup with the fleets there, but not a big deal. I'm on my way, just hang in there a little longer. Also, consider some kind of...payment for this help. Sure, we're using crappy ships but hey, they cost too! I was thinking a little something like Wight beeing handed to me at a resonable point - and after aid has been given, would be a nice start. Of course, this should not be a loss for you - first you must be compensated elsewhere, Wil for example. Let me know how to hit it and I hope I'll be in Eng and be ready to support that strike.

To Irish,

I made a guess with Cel, sure hope it was the right one.

To Welsh,

Nothing personal, but I'm not really comfortable with 4 welshian fleets going on a rampage through Ireland - since that would only mean an increase in their number. I hope this does not cause any bitter blood.

Norse Press to Scots. Nice to see you make the move. Picts should be 2 down in fall. What would you want to do then? To Danes. Should be moving along when Picts get rid of that fleet on my coast. To rest. Still open to suggestions of mutual benefit.

Press - Frisians to Britons - I greatly appreciate your continued offerings of peace and will return them completely. I am happy to make Hoe a DMZ. If we continue our peaceful agreement we can both focus our forces in basically one direction and make solid gains.

Saxons: Sorry, gotta go somewhere.
Wales: Hopefully I'm in Mid right now. We'll need an anti-Saxon fleet in Str, Eng or both to finish the job quickly.
Britons: Can you provide such a fleet?
- Angles

Danes to Britons

I will cut Rhe if you wish to attack Hol

Scots, if you decide to ignore the Norse's concerns about your
survival and move toward Ireland, I hope that you will first focus on
the western shore, and that we can begin to work together. We can
always trade centers later.

Angles, I can no longer risk Wil every turn to the Saxons. With the
Britons and Norse moving to our shores, continued war against the
Saxons has lost its upside. I propose that we make an effort to work
together as three the same way we have as two, and expand from our
very fragile center position. Together, we are safe from attack, and
any joint fleet action is likely to make more inroads against our
enemies than our enemies are on us.

Saxons, your defense has been spectacular. I hope you still see the
value of working together in a committed manner, rather than aligning
with continental powers who can offer no more than stalemate, and
would eventually come after you as well. Would you (and the Angles)
respond to my proposal in the winter press, along with ideas for
spring?

Britons, mission accomplished on saving the Saxons. I can't help you
with the Irish. However, you may want to consider the benefits of the
bird you had in the hand, versus the one you see in the bush.

-Wales

Saxons to Angles/Welsh: Do I sound like a broken record yet? We are gaining NOTHING; other alliances are being forged and will be attacking US soon. Can we not please stop already? NONE of my moves in the last 2 turns have been attacks - they have merely been easy bounces and breaking of support. You will also note that I have NOT asked for specific help from ANY source just sent out a generic plea for help. I ask one last time [and will wait until after Spring of 854] - give me some sign that we can quit this. I am NOT trying to be aggressive but if I get no positive love from my neighbors I am going to be forced to act in a manner that I do not want to. Welsh - PLEASE encourage the Angles to stop. They seem to follow your lead. I STILL don't understand why you would side with them over me when I have done NOTHING. IF you supported Mer-Mid in lieu of supporting your own A in Wil then you will notice that you lost it; seems fair because the only way the attack on Mid would have succeeded was with your support from Glo. If for some reason I take Wil OTHER than that, I will withdraw and give you back your land.

Oh...and one other thing - IF I am forced to disband units, I will pick one of you to benefit and will throw EVERYTHING else I have to fight the other, EVEN if it means leaving centers OPEN for the other to take. How would that mess up the balance of power? Imagine if I abandon my back door and leave open centers for the Welsh to take? They become quite the power...hmmm...who becomes the next person to die? I know - it IS petulant but whoever said I wasn't an SOB didn't know me very well.

Saxons to ANYONE: Help please. Can't a poor, down-trodden king get SOME help?

The East-London Times 1953: Today, after much debate [and almost 1100 years after their races lived], the scholars at Oxford penned a new phrase for people of English descent following over a year of historical research. It seems, after delving into the documents, that the Saxons were eradicated from England TOO early from a historical perspective to really be a part of the term WASP. The lead researcher, Sven-Goran Erikson, had this to say: 'I was shocked to learn that we had been erroneous for all of these years. We always assumed that the Saxons survived long enough to have their gene pool mixed with others on the Isle. However, it seems that the aggressive Welsh and Angles were unrelenting in their genocide attacks on the Saxons and few Saxon babies ever lived, even in captivity, to mingle their genes with those of the Angles and Welsh and later the Britons.'

When asked what term was now appropriate, Sir Alex Ferguson, protestant liaison and representative of the Church of England, had this to say: 'Based on the research and the ferocity of the genocide, we believe that the term WACK is more appropriate - Welsh Anglo Clownish Kin. We think that that term more adequately represents the true genealogical history of the descendants of what we originally thought were WASPs.'

Picts' announcement:

To Scot: Good to see you take back ARG. I own you no debt now. True, you can help Nores to eliminate me, but I don't see you will get anything from me, but help Nores to grow strong. My survival would help you defend against Nores with my fleets. I will disband my army to show my goodwill. Therefore, please send your fleet to help me defend against Nores. Thank you.

To Danes: Nores is attacking me. Once I died, Nores will have 4 more fleets. Don't know whom he would attack soon, but a weak neighbor would be a good target. Maybe we should work together against Nores.

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
