NNIGTFML tomorrow! - FuzzyLogic   (Sep 14, 2009, 9:13 pm)
Still waiting on a few lucky llamalian builds for tomorrow!
You earned them, would sure suck to not put them on the board…

Subject: NNIGTFML f01 results!

Well isn’t this quite a diverse opening we’ve got here! Some players on 2 centers, others on 7. The big winner for the day has to be Brazil with 3 builds on top of a 4 to start, while Bolivia just manages to break even when their capital falls to Chile. Peru and Colombia bounce over the Galapagos Islands, while the other 3 manage a relatively uneventful pair of builds. Net results?

Argentina: Build 2
Brasil: Build 3
Chile: Build 2
Colombia: Build 2
Paraguay: Build 2
Peru: Build 1
Venezuela: Build 2
Bolivia gets the turn off

BUILDS due Tuesday 9/15, 6pm Central

Argentina:
A Mendoza - Patagonia
F Montevideo - Rio Grande do Sul (*Fails*)
A Salta - Potosi (*Bounce*)

Brasil:
A Mato Grosso - Santa Cruz
F Pernambuco - Maranhao
F Rio Grande do Sul Hold
A Sao Paulo Supports F Rio Grande do Sul

Feel free to not take your builds, folks. I'd be happy to put them to good use in your stead. But only if it would be a burden to take them yourselves, you know.

What? I'm not? Aww, crap.
Mike, please let the Venezuelan people know I'm not really El Presidente, that I've simply been an imposter this past year. A fool parading in the streets with a crown, cape and scepter.
I'll turn in my keys to the presidential palace promptly (wow, try saying that five times fast!) and vacate the premises. Packrat, thank you for rescuing these poor souls from following the wrong leader!

"Not now, I've got to feed my llama!"

We've got a lineup here with some of the best in the hobby - including some new hopefuls, some dc regulars, some old-school vets, and some dinosaurs that have been around forever.

This game will follow in my typical 4-season Diplomacy fashion, that is with autumn retreats and winter builds combined into one season to cut back on the minor turns.  You can always submit your build orders conditional upon the autumn retreat ordrers, if that affects what you would build.  See my house rules online for further info.  Actually, you should read them even if further info isn't really your bag of chips, or even if you dont care for info much at all.  No, even if it would make you grossly ill, you should still read the house rules.  They're that good.  Trust me.

For those of you got on the wrong train, you have showed up for South American Supremacy - As the train has now left the station, this is where you're going whether you like it or not - but how could you not?  With a variant created by the legendary Ben Hester, you would have the wisdom of a llama to not want to play in this one.

So - without delaying this any further than I already have, let's get a confirmation from all 8 players, including if you like a preference list of countries.  Even if you dont have a preference, you should still reply to me to confirm you're interested, and indicate no preference.

With this crowd, I'm not anticipating we'll have any long-term issues with NMRs.  I'll be running this game in my usual way, that is with processing NMR's as they fall.

Enjoy!

NNIGTFML - Mountains & Rivers (DC-273) - Kenshi777   (Aug 31, 2009, 11:21 am)
That's because I'm an idiot.  As mentioned in the other message, Mike is right, and I'm wrong.  My bad.  I'm on board with the Sims train now, and will refrain from any further commentary.  Meant to be helpful, but only added to the confusion - sorry!

Jack nailed my dilemma - I'm looking at the DipWiki version, which matches Ben's succeed/fail list. I'm also looking at the "official" map, directly from Ben's website (which you suggested, Hester!), which does not match.

NNIGTFML - Officia Maps - Kenshi777   (Aug 31, 2009, 11:09 am)
Just to clarify, Mike is running the game, and anything he says goes.  If by some instance of stupidity on my part I inadvertently contradict him, as the GM, whatever Mike says is correct and I will promptly shut up.  I am only here to assist as requested with the variant, and as a grateful observer.

So - it sounds like I have old info posted on the DipWiki by accident...I'll have to address that.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Guys pls ignore the little man behind the curtain, as the moves indicated have nothing to do w the map we are actually playing. The version we are playing is the version that is on the diplomaticcorp site. It is in the attached maps. The dipwiki version has two different maps, neither of which is the current map. One of them differs around Con-Prn, the other differs around the Pacific Ocean . But use what is posted here, and the RP file from the website. Con is not adjacent to Prn in this version. I’m sure the wiki will get updated when he gets around to it.

This one is South American Supremacy. Which of course begs the question in our south-of-the-border stadium – which one of you will reign supreme? As far as preferences went, you all suck. What good does it do to turn in prefs, if you’re all going to pick the same flipping thing? I mean really. So some of you got what you wanted, others got a bit hosed – but everyone will still have fun I’m sure.

Now our lineup!
We have an American group stepping up to the plate this game, in fact a pretty New England bunch if you do ask me with 6 of our 8 players shouting out from that strip between Baltimore and Maine.

Andy Venezuela cloudhurler77(at)yahoo.com (cloudhurler77(at)yahoo.com)

Now to a little matter of the first deadline: Friday Sep 4, 6pm Central / 2300 GMT. Keep in mind the following Monday is Labor Day, so if a week like this is too short for anyone for the first turn, let me know.

Next thing - PRELIMS. Use them! ‘Nuff said.

I think that’s it! Oh wait did I mention prelims? If not, use them! ‘Nuff said.

NNIGTFML - Officia Maps - FuzzyLogic   (Aug 30, 2009, 10:53 am)
Guys pls ignore the little man behind the curtain, as the moves indicated have nothing to do w the map we are actually playing. The version we are playing is the version that is on the diplomaticcorp site. It is in the attached maps. The dipwiki version has two different maps, neither of which is the current map. One of them differs around Con-Prn, the other differs around the Pacific Ocean. But use what is posted here, and the RP file from the website. Con is not adjacent to Prn in this version. I’m sure the wiki will get updated when he gets around to it.

Jack nailed my dilemma - I'm looking at the DipWiki version, which matches Ben's succeed/fail list. I'm also looking at the "official" map, directly from Ben's website (which you suggested, Hester!), which does not match.

Jack nailed my dilemma - I'm looking at the DipWiki version, which matches Ben's succeed/fail list. I'm also looking at the "official" map, directly from Ben's website (which you suggested, Hester!), which does not match.

That's because I'm an idiot.  As mentioned in the other message, Mike is right, and I'm wrong.  My bad.  I'm on board with the Sims train now, and will refrain from any further commentary.  Meant to be helpful, but only added to the confusion - sorry!

Rather embarrassed that his house is apparently not in order -

Mike said his map (from RP) is the official map we are working from.
So I have to agree, Ben is talking about a different version then we are using

Ben,
I don't see a Con/Prn adjacency on your official version of the map. It looks like Asu is between them. Clarify?
