DC153 Spring 1909 Results and GAME END! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear all,

T'was an interesting introduction to the diplomatic corp community. Thanks for the game.

England was right - never give up the Channel. Things started going downhill for France from then! That it was combined by Italy's eventually successful fixation with the Iberian only quickened the downfall.

My biggest mistake was letting the latter into Marseilles. At the time I thought it would have been obvious that I would block it and that Italy would have instead moved north. Wrong wrong wrong. Instead I got greedy and tried to defend Belgium and (I think) secure the second Iberian centre. In the end I got neither.

things got very strange after that because I realised Italy was still my only friend in the area. With Germany and England gunninng so hard for an invasion I was forced to trust the only one who had actually violated French soil. All the while I could never tell if Italy and England were just playing with me or not.

I guess that points to the success of the Italian's play and diplomacy. The fact that I was still defending and helping him as he took my second last centre speaks alot.

My favourite move, for what good it did me, was interruptring the bounce in Kiel and leaving Holland vacant for another season. But I guess all that did was cement me another enemy.

My biggest question is whether Germany and Italy and Italy negotiated to take me down from the start. I'd be particularly interested to know if the combination of Germany demanding a bounce in Burgandy and Italy announcing his intention to head west were coordinated. It was a very frustrating coincidence if not - as it kept me from taking two iberian centres in the first year (given my initial foray into the English Channel).

Oh well, Thanks again for the game,. Sorry to have departed so early and congratulations to all those that reached the final draw.

Best wishes,

Integre of France.

(Paul)

Finally the fleet madness stops, with armies raised and fleets disbanded
by almost all parties. The lone exception is Turkey, who NBR's and thus
will have to survive 1905 on his current 4 units.

As previously mentioned I am leaving town tomorrow and will not return
for a week, so the deadline for Spring 1905 is Monday, March 17, at 9 pm
eastern. Also note that this means that there will be no reminder
email, so don't be counting on it - send prelims in ASAP.

DC153 Fall 1902 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Barring any waived builds we'll be up to 33 units now, with only Holland
going unclaimed. England joins Turkey on Russian soil, Italy continues
to press west, and the Balkans...we'll, it's the Balkans.

No retreats again, so we move directly to Winter 1902, due this
Wednesday, Feb. 9. Adjustments due are listed below the adjudication; I
only need to hear from four of you. Note: All adjustments (and
retreats, when we have them) are considered final unless explicitly
marked as prelims. Thus if you four get your adjustments in quickly, we
may be able to proceed ahead of schedule. And remember no grace periods
for adjustments!

I just noticed that I wrote the deadline as Wednesday the 26th, which
was the day I sent the mail out (and not even a Wednesday), instead of
Wednesday the 30th, which is tomorrow. However, since no one has
questioned the deadline, I assume you all knew what I meant. So the
deadline is still tomorrow at 9 pm eastern.

Wow, well there's certainly some firsts in my book in this game. I

All four adjustments in a bit early with none marked as preliminary, so
the adjudication wheel gets kicked into gear! Seems people are still
valuing the seas, as again more fleets are raised than armies...although
one fleet does sink due to lack of supply.

Guys,

Sorry I didn't send a reminder email - so you're kind of getting one
now. I won't be able to adjudicate until later tonight, so the two of
you from whom I have no orders get a bit of break. Turkey and France,
get them in ASAP (everyone else I have orders from). If they're not in
by when I'm ready to adjudicate later today (probably about 6 or 7
eastern), your grace periods will be activated. You already got one
basically for free...would be a shame to waste your actual one too...

But so Russia's A Mos is auto-disbanded.

Deadline for Fall 1904 is this Wednesday, Mar. 5, at 9 eastern (slightly
less than 4 days, but you all have had a little extra time because of
this extended retreat period - let me know if you need an extension and
I'll be happy to grant it).

Italy storms all of Iberia, Germany moves to the last unclaimed neutral,
England finds out that he can't dislodge himself, the Balkans are still
a standoff, and, most importantly, it all happens without the need for
an extension (although a couple of you cut it pretty damn close)!

Also, we have our first retreat, as the lone English army, with the help
of the Germans, forces the troops of the Czar to fleet the white
vastness of Moscow, and this time they can't burn up the supplies
first! Retreat options listed below the adj, and the retreat is due no
later than 9 pm eastern on Friday (Feb. 29) at 9 pm eastern. However, I
will process the retreat and set the new deadline as soon as I receive it.

DC153 Fall 1903 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Austria uses his grace effectively, and France takes advantage to avoid
an NMR. A crafty move by France keeps Holland STILL neutral, although
the kaiser still gains at Russia's expense. The Czar reclaims his
southern port, England's PM takes a liking to Swedish blonds, and
Balkans are still mostly a huge standoff.

We have our first retreat! However, since Turkey's A Sev can only
retreat to Arm, I have entered this. Since retreating OTB would have
the same result as disbanding the unit in the winter, our Sultan can
simply do that if he wishes.

Winter 1904 is thus due this coming Friday, Feb. 22, at 9 pm eastern,
although, since I only need to hear from three of you (adjustments due
listed at the bottom of the adj), if you all get them in early, then
results will magically appear before the deadline!

The middle of the board lies empty while everyone turns to one side or
another...Italy storms into MAO, England sneaks into Sweden, and Germany
enters France while France enters Germany. And the Balkan battle has
spread beyond the Balkans, from Mos to Ion, although for now it's mostly
just a big bounce.

We still are yet to have a retreat, so we move directly to Fall 1903,
which is due on Monday (Feb. 1Cool at 9 pm eastern.
