I thought this was a fun game. My apologies to Germany for not being a very good ally. Although the big stab with Austria was the highlight of my game, I would have played things differently, knowing how it would end. I should have pursued the alliance further with Germany to get closer to 18, and then stab him. I play for solo victories and fun stabs. I was counting on a war between Russia and Austria to distract them while I made a grab for a solo victory, (Hopefully I never see any of you in another game). That particular turn before Munich became French property, I had rehearsed a scenario were I threw my forces into Italy and at the Russian north, and also the scenario where I betrayed Germany. The German plan had some drawbacks, but in the end I could not pass up the opportunity to do something aggressive. As I told Germany afterward, I often aspire to a 1941-style betrayal in most games. The only player I will dish out any harsh criticism for is England. I never heard a word from him. To my dismay, his only strategy was to attack me. I am glad that Germany killed him off. I was not too impressed with some of Russia's choices: particularly his southern strategy. Not that this mattered because there was no chance that Austria was going to pose any threat. I am not generally impressed by players that are satisfied with a shared victory, and in a game representing the greed of great power conflicts, I think anything less than shooting for total victory is a sell-out. At the risk of irking you all, let me claim a moral victory for being the only one to do anything cool, and for ending the game with the most units. (This comment is not serious, and also truthful). I was a little sad that Germany decided to end things before we could test the will power of the eastern allies. My position in Germany was solid, and my four fleets in the south could have held you off well into 2013 (our time, not game time). I think that Germany decided to end it as our units became intertwined, and the effect of a second French stab could have been immediately fatal for him. I was not planning such a stab, but I had looked into in some detail. Thanks guys.

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
